I'm not a regular poster (so apologies if there's been a similar thread), but I can't stop thinking about the game yesterday and our current plight.

There have been some very strong opinions on the board, manager and team over the course of the season, none more so than after yesterday's game. We've been in similar situations in the past of course, but this feels different......I'm coming away from games feeling like I don't care anymore, and after being a season ticket holder for 24 years, I'm seriously considering renewing next season as I'm sure some others are.

So..........

A Board with no drive or ambition - they can't even be arsed to turn up for games nevermind put in any meaningful investment.

A manager who sets us up to play for a draw - even at home - in league f'kin one - and seems clueless with his selections and tactics.

And a team devoid of passion, pace and skill - and with absolutely no pride in the shirt.

Seriously considering not renewing for the first time in 35 years unless there are big changes.

It feels different because of Twitter and Facebook and the Internet.
Before when we were rubbish, post mortems would be held on a Saturday night after reading the Green Un or in the pub with a few pints. Letters could be sent to the Green Uns post page and if we won or lost you expected ribbing from or gave out lip to the fans of the dark side. End of.
Nowadays, anyone can pour out their hearts for all to read ( if you can be bothered sometimes to read all the bleating) or send vitriolic tweets which if they had to say face to face would never happen.
We are playing badly and things are not right at the moment but for goodness sake let's put this into perspective. We lost, they played badly, the manager has to put things right. He may do, he may not, I personally think he needs more time, something we have not given any other managers, again via the Internet maybe pressure has been put on the board and panic decisions made.

Oh and not so long ago Brayford was the best thing since sliced bread with his trendy beard and well groomed hair. We needed him in the team, he was well worth 1.5 million, we had to have him. So the board bought him..........

Not a chance. Not bothering until we start showing some ambition as a club.

I'm really struggling to see how without voting with our feet we can get the message home to the board. McCabe must have had a smug satisfied smile on his face when he found 20000 people frequenting the Lane following the non activity in the transfer market and the almost inevitable result that followed against a solid but ordinary Wigan side.

Put things in perspective?! Need more time? Is that you phippsy? We are facing the longest period outside the top 2 divisions in our entire history. Is that not bad enough for you?

Don't think i'll be renewing to be honest, there is still time for me to change my mind but my son has lost interest and so have the vast majority of the group that i usually attend games with.

I dont have the same enthusiasm for the game as i used to have, and that is not just directed at Sheff Utd. I recently cancelled my sky sports subscription because match of the day is enough football for me these days.

£55 a month to be equal parts bored, angry and disappointed seems like a raw deal. I will most likely pick and choose games which take my fancy next season; i've already missed so many games this season that it has been of no benefit having an ST anyway.

I'll always be a blade, but i won't buy a season ticket every year regardless how poor we are. I know some people will, and that is there prerogative. The last 3 seasons have been the death knell for me, and i can't honestly see any sign that things will get better. But i will live in hope, it's the mantra that i have had through the vast majority of my 34 years as a blades fan

Up the blades.

Yes, I'll be renewing my acquaintance with another 400 and odd quid that I have to play with by not buying a season ticket.

I don't think he gives a shit personally.

That's a sad summary, but quite understandable.

My sons are grown up and live away. Going to United games is a common bond. If they wanted to stop then I wouldn't make the 3 hour round trip anymore. As it stands we love to meet up for a beer, some food and a moan. Unless this changes, I'll be there, even when we get dragged down to the 4th.

What a fucking mug I am.

30% 'definitely nots' so far - that's a considerable increase on the last time we had this poll, and an understandable one.

I wouldn't say that; i hoped that the blades would provide a similar bond between my son and i; the problem is that i'm trying to sell it to him based on the past 2 seasons which have seen some of the most consistently poor performances that i can remember.

Are you me in disguise :)

In his defence Adkins has only been involved in one year of the five.

I take it you want him to take the blame for Wilsons failure?

This season isn't anywhere near the lowest hand that I've been dealt by the R&WW. So it's a yes from me.
