Will we sell out?

Years ago lots sid they were never going to Wembley ever again..

They all went back for more punishment..

I've already sounded about 10 out to get to Wembley should we get there ...

It's about 4 out of 10 right now. But that will change if we are in the final, to answer, we'll sell out..

One day will be our day...when, well that's another question.
I'm not going.

I'll do cup semi finals and obviously a final of we ever got one, but no more play offs

Old Wembley
Pigs ❌
Palace ❌
Millennium Stadium
Wolves ❌
Old Trafford
Newcastle ❌
Arsenal ❌
New Wembley
Burnley ❌
Huddersfield ❌
Hull City ❌
Man City ❌

That’s my record watching United at a neutral venue. Played 9, lost 9, scored 4, conceded 17.

So, yeah, I think I might be watching us lose if we get there.
Remove Pigs and Newcastle and that's my record too 😞

We’ll sell out the home leg if they get the tickets on sale to all in good time, price it fairly and don’t put needless restrictions on purchases.

Wembley (if we get there) we’ll take 30,000ish, give or take a few k dependant on the manner of victory and “feel good factor” after the game….assuming lessons have been learnt by the club from the Man City semi final.

I’ll be going to both although unlikely to do the away leg given other commitments.

As far as the play offs go I’m the Terminator, you can’t kill me. We’ve lost in every possible way. If we lost again, I’d shrug my shoulders and slip off for a pint in the no doubt baking hot sun.

Yes

Yes I will 2nd that! I can add the semi finals against Leicester in the early sixties ( when we were robbed of a winner at Elland Road Doc Pace scored a good goal which was ruled out for hand ball even though doc had a mark on his shirt where the ball hit him ) 1936 was the last time we reached the final and lost that to Arsenal.
Could we mark the centenary of our last win at Wembley with a win ?
I will be there like any true blade !
Not many of us around who saw the Leicester trilogy ! Any 1936 fans around! I feel sure there will be some?
They’d have to be in their 90s but there must be a few. My uncle who died a couple of years ago remembered the 1936 disappointment vividly (and claimed to remember 1925 as well although he was only 3 at the time).

Yep same.. I’m done with play offs .. too far, too depressing and too expensive.

So many people I’ve spoken to saying the same, it’s why I am certain if we get to Wembley we will not sell more than about 25k

If it was Old Trafford I’d have thought about it more

B56 was at the 1925 final - he took his grandchildren

Missed the pigs game due to work, and chose not to go to the City game. I won't be going this year either, got an expensive weekend in the middle of May, and we're going on holiday at the end of the month. The money I'd spend going to Wembley will be better spent elsewhere.

I think we will sell out but only if they don’t have a ridiculous policy as if they think they will be inundated.

Season ticket holders first. Allow them to buy as many as they want.

General sale a couple of days later.

So the season ticket holders that get in first can buy all the cheaper tickets for them and their day tripper mates?

That wouldn’t go down well!

Expect many are like myself , semi definately go to home leg ,if successful it'll be a heart v head dilemma, head saying no because it's expensive and we've always failed , heart saying it'll be different this time.

Up to now hearts always won , come away thinking I shouldn't listen to my head .

Being a blade is a bit of a mindfuck .

Nope, it isn't what it is.

We're in the top 20 of 40,000 pro and amateur football clubs in England, in both honours won and fanbase.
That may be but it still doesn't make us a big club.

It's a fair discussion. If we rebuilt the Kop and added say another 10,000 seats, do you believe we'd achieve 40,000 attendances? Especially as a yo-yo club? There are only a few truly big clubs in this country.

No on the 40k attendances. The club have stopped actively trying to grow the support in my view.

McWobble for all his many, many faults was good at this. Had a big slice of fortune with the upturn in results under Warnock but kept prices reasonable with offers for kids, students etc. This was likely driven by the fact match day revenue was as important, if not more so than as TV money in the 00s.

The Prince when in sole ownership never really bothered with any of that. Didn’t fleece the season ticket holders but didn’t try and encourage new supporters with hefty pay on the day prices. Probably realised there was little point given he didn’t have the resources to increase the capacity. He’d also have seen the likes of Bournemouth prospering in the PL with a small ground as the finances of the game have changed.

we go into our 10th attempt to win a play off
take courage from the PNE example

Jermaine Beckford scored a hat-trick to help Preston end their dismal play-off record by thrashing Swindon in the League One final at Wembley.

Preston, who had lost in their previous nine play-off campaigns, went ahead when Beckford struck from close range.

Will make it even more sweeter when we win then 😃🫡

If you could guarantee it, every fan would prefer to go up through the playoffs rather than autos. Surely we sit through all the hours of football each season for it to build up to a climactic finale. My first season was 2006/07 and there’s not been many seasons where we’ve had nothing to play for at the end.

It just doesn’t make sense to me for someone to not go to Wembley if we get there. You’re putting too much stock into the football itself, how could you miss roughly 30,000 blades in London in glaring sunshine full of hope. I even thought we were guna beat City at one point before the game.

Let yourself get taken in, and put yourself on the line to be knocked down, cause one day we’ll do it and you’ll have missed out.

I asked my wife if I could fly over and watch the final if we made it. She just laughed and said "no". Not sure if she was laughing at us making the final or the thought of going over to watch? Maybe both. Either way, won't be there. Nor the first leg as I'll be on a cruise to the Dominican Republic . Hope the boat has the game as I here wifi is poor.

Quite easily. If you guaranteed me a play-off win, I'd still watch it at home.

Weird, I know......

Same, apart from the Hull game, I was working away at the time, I’ve only seen us score 2 in 8.

There’s no chance I’ll be going to a PO final if we get there though this year, I’d love to see us win there but 10 hours on a flight each way when I know that the end result is either disappointment at losing or disappointment at being promoted (the weekly hammerings don’t appeal to me but we need the money!).

I’d like to think we’d take 30k but it depends on the ticketing policy for the final, the semi will depend on price and policy. If we shit ourselves about away fans sitting in home areas we’ll make it hard work so just discount the tickets and get them sold.
