Unless he chose Cardiff over us!? Lets hope that we do better but not sure that anyone coming in will be anything other than cover anyway, given how good Fleck and Norwood are and there are other areas that need strengthening more I think, like up front.

Or Wilder is happy with his central midfield options? I'm probably in the minority but I'd rather have Lundstram than Vaulkes.

It's also pretty clear that our first choice midfield pairing is Norwood and Fleck. Vaulkes isn't going to replace either of those so he's probably seeing Cardiff as a more secure first team spot and, frankly, probably better money than he'd get at the Lane.

Very possible, though there would be good reasons for him to join our squad over Cardiff. While I agree that Fleck-Norwood is probably set, I also expect we’ll see games away from home where we go with a 3 there. There’s always a chance of injuries/suspensions upping game time – and player at the highest level will potentially impact his international hopes, though you could argue regular football at Cardiff may be equally helpful for that.

I’ve no issue with Lundstram at all – I think he’ll be useful in the squad. A plus that Vaulks has over him I think though is an ability to slot into other positions – he played at centre-half and right-back at earlier points of his career.

That said, Rotherham don't really need to sell (as far as I can tell they live well within their means, which is why they've bounced around the Championship / League One) and Cardiff have money after not breaking the bank in the Prem. Contrast with Norwood who was surplus to requirements at Brighton, so that would suppress his value a bit.
