Following the kit launch today and the mostly positive response I’m very curious to whether there will be a 3rd kit.
Probably buying the away kit, looks quite retro and clean but if there’s a 3rd kit coming out I’d want to know before buying.
Hopefully the black/gold number😍

There needs to be a 3rd kit regardless, i'm surprised our away kit is white seeing as our home shirt is half white anyway.

For commercial reasons I would be surprised if there wasn’t !
The away kit is a thing of beauty imo but due to colour gives a possible need for 3rd shirt , also got me thinking re shirt sponsors , have United been commercially savvy because presumably they will have received money from Utilita (if that’s the name) to sponsor the junior kits as well as the USG money !!
As ever UTB !!

We would need a 3rd kit when we play at Southampton. Ok to play the away kit at Arsenal? Ok to play the home kit at Newcastle and Spurs?

Arsenal no way in my opinion.

We're white (grey), white, white or white (grey), red, white, potentially we could go red socks but that wouldn't help.

Definitely need a third for that, but I can see it just being either last season's away kit, or a Tiro19 in a non flashing colour, probably black so we can wear our home shorts.

Navy Blue for a 3rd kit (with red trim) always looks smart for a 3rd kit.

Black with gold looks good, black with silver/gray would be better.

We are premier league now. All premier league teams have 3rd kits even though they aren't required

Can't see the issue at Arsenal. They have a red shirt, ours is grey/white so no clash. They have white shorts, we wear the red ones so no clash. I believe they have white socks, we wear the red, no clash.

We’d need the third kit for Spurs away or anyone that wears white wouldn’t we? Home kit is just that, for home games, or am I terribly confused?

Sod knows Bob. The whole nonsense is a bit like VAR. IF there was no TV coverage there would be no VAR, but TV creates a demand for it, to increase the drama for the armchair pillocks and get everyone to believe it benefits the game. Same with the kits. The kit manufacturers generate a market, that without them wouldn't exist, and then deliberately design change/away kits to necessitate a 3rd kit. and the lemmings jump on board.

It would be quite simple:

No home colours in the away kit.

Dark shorts at home, light shorts away and vice versa, same for the socks.

3rd kit abolished!

They don't let you do that though do they?

The Premier League seem to want teams to have majority different colours, or substantially different shades.

We'll see I suppose, I wouldn't be surprised to see one myself.

So long as it means no POLICE STOP yellow kits I’m all up for that.

Oh, there'll be one! I'm just showing there's no need and that the authorities running the game collude with kit manufacturers to create unnecessary markets.

There's no need for a fucking 3rd kit.
Arsenal away, wear white shirts black shorts red socks.
Soton away wear all white.
There's no fucking need for a fucking 3rd fucking kit.
And besides, for whatever reason only shirts and socks must be different colours to the opposite, shorts can be the same.

May just end up using the green away kit from 18/19 instead if there's only a couple potential clashes.

Can't see why us b Southampton/Arsenal would be a major issue wearing the white shirt......has never been a problem for Man City v Chelsea to both wear blue....

I honestly don't understand why people get so worked up on the idea of us having a 3rd kit. Do we need one... no. Would people buy one if released... yes. Thus, it makes commercial sense to have a 3rd kit and that's why the majority of PL teams do it

The Premier League is completely unpredictable though.

One week the above, the next Arsenal are playing in their away kit against Watford.

Yellow black black against Red white white, but Arsenal play in turquoise.

I do think when the colours are the same sort of shades it is annoying to watch, so probably annoying to officiate.

It'll depend on the commercial deal they have with the kit supplier
