As said already he's played no10 a few times (including while he was on loan at Millwall last season before his injury).

For me that isn't the issue though, he played the same amount of games as Tom Davies last year (10) which fills me with no confidence whatsoever.

Never seen much of him actually play but 20 goals and assists in 64 games as an AM isn’t bad output.

I don’t see why we’re so desperate to add another wage just to play 4-2-3-1.

It’s not some miracle system that we absolutely have to play upon pain of death!

Given how open we have been the last two games despite the encouraging start of the first few, 4-3-3 would give us the extra solidity that 2 in the middle obviously isn’t.

With Donovan, Chong, Brereton-Diaz, Oné, Bamford, Cannon and Campbell you don’t look short of numbers at all.

In fact if you’re favouring 3 in midfield, then having Peck, Phillips, Rothwell, Arblaster, Jairo and Choudhury doesn’t look to be excessive anymore.

If little Jamie stays fit and plays like he did when he came on the other night and old Doc can start registering the minutes then even without Seriki and Burrows we look better balanced.

Start trying to crowbar a 10 in there where we don’t have or signing just one then it just makes it complicated.

Say we sign Smallbone and he gets injured, which let’s face it, is likely, what happens to the formation then?

Can’t see us bringing in free signings something that really bugs me wilder said several times we were after the big name loan signings yet we haven’t signed one I called a big loan signings.
