It is hilarious that you word it as one or the other. But to answer your question, more than what we took. And your wording as "got nothing" for those players is silly. We paid x amount for y years of registration and that is exactly what we got. If you don't receive an offer that is in excess of what you think the remainder of the player's registration is worth, you don't sell.
More than what we took? Where are you getting this figure from besides vibes?
I compared him to players sold for more in his position from the Championship around his age:
Tom Cannon - Scored more goals than Osula, signed for "potential", could turn out to be shite
Benik Afobe - Scored more goals than Osula, never reached his "potential", plus had already been sold for millions.
Joel Piroe - Scored more goals than Osula
Emmanuel Dennis - Scored more goals than Osula
Oli Burke - Scored more goals than Osula, signed for "potential", he's definitely shite
Nael Maupay - Scored more goals than Osula
Karlan Grant - Scored more goals than Osula
Cameron Archer - Scored more goals than Osula
Che Adams - Scored more goals than Osula
Oli McBurnie - Scored more goals than Osula
Darren Bent - Scored more goals than Osula
Adam Armstrong - Scored more goals than Osula
Joao Pedro - Scored more goals than Osula
Ollie Watkins - Scored more goals than Osula
Georgino Rutter - Scored more goals than Osula
Every player signed for more than Osula had scored more goals than Osula. The ones that scored the fewest, that you could say were signed because of their "potential", are not achieving their potential, or are just plain shite.
I counted 11 more strikers below what Newcastle paid that scored more goals than Osula before I stopped counting.
Besides changing your opinions based on his current form, or never wanting to be happy with a choice the club makes, I'm struggling to see how you could genuinely believe we could convince a club to spend more than £10m for 2 league one goals and potential.
