CONFIRMED Will Osula sold to Newcastle United

The richest owners in the World have signed John Ruddy plus 3 others this summer and still not got this one over the line.

If you've only got a quid, you don't take that flip.

It's like having a go at people for buying on finance etc because it works out more. That's true, and if you've got the money you take the other option. If you haven't you can't.

We are self funding at the moment and are down on plenty of players. It's a necessary evil.
 
I don’t understand football these days. Were told Newcastle are right up against it with FFP (or whatever it’s called this season) yet they’re spending £15 mill on Osula and linked with Guehi today for £40 mill. Unless they’re getting these in before a big sale such as Bruno, Gordon or Isak I don’t understand the maths.

I mentioned this elsewhere and am genuinely fascinated by it.

Unless I'm remembering incorrectly, United fans default position has generally been 'the board are lying' but with Prince Abdullah and Bettis it seems the opposite is often true. A lot of fans, on here at least, seem to side with them rather than the manager (whoever it is) or the players.

What is about them that means they are held in such high esteem compared to McCabe, McDonald, Brearley etc? Or maybe a fairer question, why was McCabe known as "McWobblegob" but I keep reading "yeah but the Prince / Bettis said it so it must be true"?

If Bettis says the club made many offers and the manager or player doesn’t deny this, I am more likely to believe Bettis than a random internet poster with zero evidence.
As for the Prince/McWobblegob comparisons, perhaps people read some of the Court transcripts.

The new contract offered and signed by One may indicate the club now agree with you.

For various reasons Jebbison didn't play much after his return from Burton. I wonder if the club was unsure of his ability/potential during this period. If clubs are not determined to give playing time to young players I think a lot of them will start looking for a club that do want to play them, at least say they will.

In Jebbison's case there were probably reasons to prefer playing Sharp in the promotion season, even as a sub and even though he'd stopped scoring goals, but there is a downside to decisions like that. Younger players, not just Jebbison, will take notice and lose belief United is the club that is best for their career.

Can't speak for everyone but imo the prince has a history of saying the truth whether we like it or not. It's that he has historically said things that don't make fans happy when he could have just lied. I remember listening to McCabe and every time he had an interview I came out the other end feeling like we were going on to great things. A few weeks later we would sell out best player for nothing.

Absolutely. It's not just Jebbo every single decent permanent player we have had in last few years has wanted out, not because of the club but because of the way it is being run. Employment can be an emotional thing and people don't take kindly to being messed around or feeling unwanted

Been making that point all along. 1 goal up in a tight Championship game, Hecky's default was to stick Sharp on and keep it tight rather than the athletic dynamic options (Osula/Jebbison)..

Then the following Summer he made it known he wanted to keep Sharp then brought in Traore. If i were Osula/Jebbison, I took would be wanting out at the first opportunity.

Factor in Hecky went with Doyle over Norwood about a **** after it was obvious that was the right choice.

As great as Hecky did, we're now seeing the fruits of his very conservative mindset....

Shock horror, hecky wanted a striker on that kept the ball.

One thing that we just haven’t seen from Jebbison or Osula is the ability to hold the ball up. They’re ok out of possession chasing down defenders… but with the ball neither were very good at the levels we’ve had them
 
Do we think this is still going ahead? Obviously not as straight-forward as would be expected as were told all was agreed on Thursday..

I reckon we need it to now. Especially if it’s now £15+5

Unless take over gets over the line very soon which seems really unlikely we’re at least 4/5 short

Reading between the lines I think the Hoever and Osula transfers are connected if we had sold Osula Hoever would be at the lane, but the new potential owners said no as losing him would effect the value of the club, so I think we put the brakes on all the deals Lets see what happens this week

Except when players like Osula and Jebbisson go to established PL clubs like Newcastle and Bournemouth of course

I’m sure you aren’t far away,the new owners will see him as a future asset,the same as Newcastle have and is worth money IF he fulfills his potential. Next couple of days are very important. We have some great kids but a lot of supporters want to loan them out to league one,ie either don’t trust them or don’t think they are good enough. Armchair managers,all of us.
