Could not disagree more. Jebbison going was OK but Osula looks the real deal to me and hopefully he stays.
I’m not really saying he isn’t going to be good, just that if Newcastle speak to us and his agent it’s pretty much a done deal and going on to say that he’s likely not going to score us enough goals to get us promoted next season based on what he’s done so far.

In the future he might be a 20 goal a season striker but I’m not seeing it next season.

It's the Sheffield United way surely you know that the sale of Calvert Lewin a prime

But with £10m last year we were able to sign Benie Traore on a permanent and Cameron Archer on loan for a season. Worked out really well for us. Who’s to say we couldn’t do the same again? Don’t know what you’re worrying about!
Do you really not think our signings this season are much better than last? Why bang on about Traore and Archer?

People who have suggested a £10m purchase and then loan back. I would want a better player on loan which seems strange but on that basis I would take the £10m and sign a couple of players who will definitely make a difference. Cooper, Worrall etc

If you agree to sell the lad if the money is right then fair enough. All clubs have to sell IF the money is the right figure.

I wouldn't want him back though if he goes as I want us to use the monies to bring in tried and tested players for the here and now, not help develop the lad for another club. Sounds harsh, as I want the lad to stay with SUFC and keep developing with us, and if he does then I'm all for giving him time and opportunity. Goes to another club though on a permanent however, then screw us continuing to develop him for other clubs benefit.

I fully agree with you on that one.

I really don’t want to sell him, but I really don’t want to sell him and then get a loan back in return.

Imagine he comes back on loan and gets 20 goals and has an absolutely ridiculous season. We then have to wave him off goodbye and we’ve trebled their investment and have the heartache of him disappearing.

I disagree with you that I wouldn't want him to come back and score 20 goals because that would mean that we as a team would have had potentially a very good season.

I just don't think he would do that and therefore would want a loan player who is capable of doing that. A MGW type signing who you get immediate results from. I don't think we would get immediate results from osula next season whether that's on loan or he's still our player.

Well knowing our luck he’d score 20 and then miss a 1 on 1 in the play off final before we lose on pens and go back to Newcastle. Therefore I’d rather any loan just be totally unconnected on the real off chance

It’s the first post I have ever made about Traore or Archer so i wouldn’t say that qualifies as me ‘banging on about’ them would you?

Also a forum where people don’t communicate their views would be a very dull place indeed. Or do you prefer a North Korean approach where only back-slapping, positive views are welcomed?

In answer to your question, I’m reasonably impressed with the signings - O’Hare, Burrows and Moore will improve us, Shackleton and the left back from Norwich are decent squad fillers. We are woefully short on numbers given when the season starts and in my opinion we shouldn’t be looking to move Osula on unless the offer is ridiculous. I take it you’re a huge fan of the preseason work so far?

Wouldn't lose on pens with cooper in net 👀😉

He was never ready for the Premier League last year, but if he can develop a bit more composure and football brain theres no reason he can't make it there.

I'd much rather keep him - he's on a long contract so absolutely no pressure to sell.
I think his strength, surprisingly is his current problem. In the men's team he gets shrugged off it too easily. Needs to be able to shield/protect it, not just run with it.

Osula and Brewster are about level pegging of meh-ness to me

if the offer is around £5m then keep him, if its £10m then let him go - 29 games in 4 years with no goals for a striker and were debating whether to accept a £10m bid 😁
I don't dispute whether you rate him or not, but at least get your facts right. He scored 3 goals in the FA Cup last season, including one against a Premier Division side in Brighton.

Stats that coaching staff know throughout the country and i’m sure they know whether he’s just a trier. Your point is he’s worth what?
I dunno, I mean if boot was on other foot, how much would you be happy for the club to spend on a goalscorer that doesnt score goals? We spent £2m on a keeper that cant save, or dive, or catch........... so maybe that?

No seriously, I think he could come good, and I want him to stay if the offer is less than £5m
If its £10m then that can fund Cooper, Worrall + 1 more - and 3 proven over 1 potential where we are now is good business

Im not knocking Osula, I was questioning your description as 'best finisher at the club';)

Sadly, we are in need of sales, just to help Wilder rebuild. While initially this would hurt a lot, should we then bring in players that enable a top six finish, it will have to be done.

referenced from another post - fair play it doesnt reflect this FAC goals, its league only

Ill be honest I want him to do well, and hes a Blade so were behind him right - Im just pointing out that were in no financial position of strength to refuse a £10m bid that could secure us Cooper, Worrall + 1 other proven player for a lad thats played in 29 league games and hasnt score one goal

I certainly agree Steve, would love to sign Worrall, Cooper, another RB and at least one of a striker/winger. In an ideal world the takeover is successfully completed in a few days and we can sign them AND keep all our existing players (with the exception of Grbic 🙄).

If not, then I suppose we have to bite the bullet and sell one or maybe two of our existing squad. Would prefer to keep Hamer and Osula rather than Anel or Souza, mainly because of their 'submission' towards the end of the season. However, with United it very rarely ends how we want it. It will be what it is 😒.

Hi Stegosaurus here

Why? He's not PL level, and for that 10 million they could get someone better--Brereton Diaz for example looks like he is going for 8 million.

Why dont Newcastle f/off and go and buy a young piglet from S6,surely there are some standout piglets at the Sty :tumbleweed:

Piggy you took the bait 😂

I would love to be proven wrong and I hope I am.. I just don’t think he’s great, and I really want him to be.

2 best things in football when it comes to players are

1. homegrown players who tear it up, extra point for being from the same city and supporting the club and sticking around for too long to the detriment of their own career.
2. Mad foreign lads who stick around post retirement and develop a bastardised foreign/local accent

What if it was £10m plus 20% sell on fee and also a season long loan back option?
100% no
For a start the sell on fee needs to be higher, and why is a loan back good for us, getting a bit sick of loaning players that have a good season with us and then go onto some other club because we can't afford them.

If you can’t afford them, then that’s the only way.
You get promoted and then have the backing to buy them.

But even when we get promoted we still don't have the money too buy them.
You ignored the bit about backing. Unless we have owners with deep pockets, loaning them is all we can afford.
Either-way, if you don't loan them, then you're looking at buyer lesser players but you own them.

I'd rather loan and get quality.

Our in this case keep our own player.

Well it’s a big improvement on the preseason work a year ago.
