If you had to pick 1 player who would you choose?

  • One

  • Osula

In what sense?

Osula was better at the point we sold him than One is now.

One has a higher ceiling because unlike Osula he's a natural goalscorer and a much bigger unit.

Neither good enough to be relied on to lead the line in a promotion chasing team right now.
I actually think Osula is more of a unit personally and could reach top speed but everyone has their own opinion. Both are big players

One looked lost at times last season. Just as Osula looked lost in his first season (albeit in PL in one of the worst sides ever). Stylistically, they are similar players for me

But given his age it could just be that something has clicked. He’s certainly looking effective (against lower quality opponents) playing on the left and has done himself no harm at all. 4 goals in less than 180 mins - he confidence must be through the roof.

I’d still take Osula for now though.

I think they’re both very similar, there’s very little to choose between them, which has to be a good thing. Hopefully we can hang onto One and see him develop into a regular starter with us for a season or two, before the inevitable transfer.

I'm not going to get too carried away with One yet as he's only scored against League Two and League One opponents, though that's a good sign of his potential. Let's see how he fares in the Championship before making any final judgements.

Osula.

Tough choice but he does have that experience that Oné lacks right now.

That being said, if I was a RB I would not like the idea of Oné running at me all game.

If they both had the same ability to actually run for a full game of football it would be Oné hands down.

If I had to choose for next season alone it would be Osula, because is Oné gonna suddenly be able to play 70 minutes in this high intensity set up at the top end of the championship?

Judging Ryan, a natural finisher, on games against York and Rotherham where we’ve utterly dominated and created tonnes of chances is always going to make him look good.

He hasn’t got the legs for anything but 10-15 minute cameos in the championship and has been that way for fully a year now.

I was hoping his cardio would’ve developed much quicker than this. Hoping to be proved wrong.

For a long term investment I’d still side with Oné, but Osula would give more right now imo

I like them both but despite what opposition we play osula didn't score a league goal for us

When I’ve seen Onè in games last season he looked like a kid playing against men, but that’s exactly what he was. We as fans (me included) expect players regardless of age to come in and do a job because we’re so desperate for our team to win.

Taking stock of we were to send him out on loan I think he’d get 10-15 goals for a league one or two side. At his age that’s a very good place to be.

Credit to the youth recruitment team, another gem found

Can only compare when Osula was at the age One is now and One is in front. Think One is nailed on to start the first game of season of the left

If they keep developing as they should and find themselves at the same club in 3/4 years time, be a hell of a front 2 !!

Agree…it’s a stupid question.

Also neither of them are good enough to play in our first team, so it’s just potential.

We like to hype up both Osula and One but to date, both have done every little.

Agree One could have a higher ceiling just based on his physical stature, hard to believe he’s still a teenager with more growing to do.

Osula is hardly the finished article and is certainly not a proven Premier League striker. Jebbo played a similar number of games and scored a similar number of goals at Bournemouth and the same could be said about him.

Most of the real top end strikers at nearly 22 are regular starters and regular goalscorers, going back as far in time as you want.

Much depends on how much One features this season and what he contributes because if he does play semi-regularly and get near double figures then he'd be ahead of Osula, despite Osula being signed to a Premier League team. Unless Isak leaves and they don't sign anyone else, then he's unlikely to get much of a look in.
