We'd be happy getting £2m for some of our 1st team players, so £2m for a lad who is nowhere near the 1st team looks like good business to me.

It might come back to bite us on the arse, but Spurs have got a lot of work to do to make that the case.
It can’t come back to bite us in the arse when we had no way of stopping the move. The only question is should we have taken less money to make a point and force it to go to tribunal, probably against the lads wishes.

Thanks and I know that. The tribunal generally fall on the purchasing clubs side. £2m seems pretty good to me. I think our negotiation skills under the new Chairman are a lot more robust

Whatever accusations can be levelled at Prince Abdullah, having his pants pulled down on transfer fees isn’t one of them. More than likely he got the best deal possible in the circumstances and it seems by all accounts Spurs had offered a much more lucrative deal than Bournemouth.

It’s annoying but it is what it is. London lad with an opportunity to go to a bigger club on more money and Spurs can afford to take a punt. You win some you lose some. We’ve taken players from teams further down the pyramid so we can’t take the moral high ground.

If we get £2m and there’s a sell on clause and if it’s true the lad wants to return to the London area, then I’m happy for the lad and I’m happy with the fee

For me the priorities are hanging onto Berge and Ndiaye this window

Not much the club could have done in this case but get the maximum fee.
The lad gets to be nearer family.
Not a bad return for only developing him for the last year or so.

At this moment in time this is a good deal. We have agreed a deal reportedly over a Million Pounds (possibly 2) plus add ons and a sell on clause for a scholar who has been on our books for a year. He has definite potential and may turn out to be the next Harry Kane for Spurs. If that is the case then it will further benefit us financially.
We had no control over him leaving. He wasn't tied to a professional senior contract. We couldnt really play hard ball otherwise the deal would still have happened and the fee would have been decided at a tribunal where we would have ended up with about 50K.
He could also be the next Jordan Slew, Jacob Mellis etc who went on to do nothing after hitting the big time. For his sake, I hope he goes on to have a fantastic career.

Good luck to him - obviously his dream move, hope he does well.

Always a bit irritating losing talented young players but if selling the odd academy lad to help balance the books helps us keep the first team in tact for this season then so be it. Not that we had much choice in the matter.

Shame to see him go as he looked a handful but there was no way we could keep him. His absence will open up a chance for someone else to progress and hopefully it’s getting another feather in the cap for the academy when looking to bring in prospective players.

You have to assume he's a way behind other young strikers like Jebbo, Osula and even Brewster to an extent. His pathway (urgh) is just as blocked here as it will be at Spurs so the money is probably worth taking, not that we had a choice.

That said it seems his old man made the big decisions here.

Real shame such a potentially gifted player has slipped through the net. £2 million is pretty shit considering age, potential etc but not much you can do when your boyhood club comes knocking and he's not contracted.

He has been No where near the first team and you say the terms of the deal are pretty shit 😂

They'll be fattening the lamb up to sell him, once the season starts he'll be lucky to make the bench, to West Ham or Fulham in a year or so's time, 25m..

He is only just 19.
He'll develop a lot more over the next 18 months, he'll be ready then I think.
Would love to take him on loan for a season..

I've got high hopes for this lad, he has all the physical attributes.

We should ask about a loan.

Hi Stegosaurus here

We always let our good academy players go for a shilling and a horse shit sandwich. Tottenham had our kegs down here.
Be interesting to see whether they had em down as far as when they signed Walker and Naughton for £11m
