Will forest be the highest attendence of the season on sunday?

Kop filling up steadily since this morning but seats still available in the side sections, you can see the Kop and South Stand sales at this link

Simple solution to away fans in the Home stands, eject and arrest.

Not simple at all. They won't be wearing colours and will claim to be neutrals who just want to see a good game of football. It takes three stewards to throw out a single fan who doesn't want to leave. Any if will be hard for the stewards to get access to them, unless they are right beside an aisle. And I doubt that cheering a team's play is an arrestable offence.

There will be a few hundred forest fans in the south stand. They'll mostly stay quiet unless they score, then there may be trouble.

Hi all
Another Forest fan here. Been reading through a few bits and wanted to add a reply.

First off, most Forest fans are happy with the away allocation. Its a fair ammount and in the event of a replay I would imagine you would get the whole lower bridgford (like you did the day Cloughie retired for those that remember) which holds around 4,200 I believe. They may extend it if the demand from home fans is poor.
The reason some are unhappy is because they were caught in a position unable to purchase tickets. The tickets went on sale on the saturday morning when fans were on their way to Blackpool with jammed phone lines to the ticket office and the website had collapsed.
In hindsight the club should have put the tickets on sale monday morning when they weren't understaffed and website technicians were available.

As for the fans attempting to buy tickets in the United end, they are just genuine frustrated fans, some of which take their kids. Dont believe all the bravado on websites like Twitter, its nothing to do with the FEC, its all nonsense that seems to arrise at these big games.
We had the same thing with Leicester last season.

I noticed someone pointing out the poor away support at Preston. It wasn't a true reflection of our away support, Blackpool away (3 days later) had already sold out and as you will all know, its become an expensive hobby.
Forest usually sell out their full away allocation and the stats show only Leeds with higher figures in this division, although I think your pals up penistone road are fairly close.
So, in answer to 'how many do you usually take away', the answer is how many we are given.

Sorry for the long winded post, I'm looking forward to tomorrow, not been to the Lane since the John Street had terracing! Lets hope its on ;)

I don't post on here much, but browse a lot.

All fair points. Been browsing Forests forums since the draw and fully understand your frustrations. Seems your ticket office and club has a lot to answer for by the way they've handled your ticket sales for this match.

Forest have always - in my lifetime anyway - had a good away following. Just a shame that SYP seem unable and incapable of allowing teams with big followings to be allowed the maximum allocation of seats they can sell and insist on draconian segregation which normally involves huge blocks of seats remaining unsold and unavailable. You should have been given every seat on the Bramall Lane and the corner stand - 8K plus seats. It would make for a top atmosphere. Instead, odds are that they'll be plenty of empty seats in that end - serving as safety and segregation. Strange how the Met/GMP/Merseyside Police can police football fans with barely any gap between the two sets of fans.

I don't blame any Forest fan buying tickets in the United end tomorrow. I've done it myself plenty of times. Don't act a knob and there shouldn't be any problems. Sitting on your hands and not celebrating if you score is tough, but the the alternative is risk ejection or a smack - then ejection lol.

Anyway, looking forward to tomorrow. Been a while since we've had big away following. I've certainly missed it. Just hope we get the result and there's a cracking atmosphere

It seems strange that their hasn't been an official announcement on how many extra tickets that have got allocated. Also i don't know the logistics of it from a safety point of view but I don't see the problem in this. We are miles off from it being anywhere close to been a sell out. Could house them in the first 2 gangways in the john street, similar to what villa did with us. Would by extra money for both clubs, and a better atmosphere.

On another point, I'm interested to see how south yorkshire police go about policing this on sunday. They seem to be the only police force in england that can't deal with a decent away following. If the rumours that forest have only 6000 are true then there is no way that there wasn't involvement from the SYP in restricting this.

Why would we do that? there is 2,000 approximately in the real away end that the police will cover with mesh, absolutely diabolical segregation.

where would they have put another 7,500 fans today? UTB,

If we do get the MASSIVE then we should give them the bare minimum allocation that we are allowed to. Sod the money.

If we do entertain the massive what's the odds on both clubs agreeing a draw at The Lane so both clubs bank more dosh?

they wouldn't would they?
