It would be ridiculous to sell Brooks in my opinion:
1. If he’s worth x now, he’ll be worth 2-4 times that as soon as he sets foot on the turf at PL level, which could be with us if we can eek out 6 more points.
2. Unless he gets a career-threatening injury, his value will increase the next few seasons without a doubt.
3. If he doesn’t look like breaking into Spurs or Bournemouth team, they might loan him. He could end up against us and improving another team’s chances.
4. He could become a definitive starter either up top or in attacking midfield or on the wing. The more starters we’ve got, the better.
5. What message does this send to the fans and the players? It says same old, same old and it says I’ve gone as far as I can with this lot.
6. Setting aside success, this if an entertainment business. He’s the most entertaining player we have. Let’s not suck the enjoyment out of it!
It’s a no from me. Come back in 24 months if we are still in this division.
Now is not the time to start taking backward steps.
So now what you’re saying is that Madine is worth £6m because Warnock was, for lack of a better word, desperate? Sound.
He still paid £6m.
And another thing, if someone is daft enough to offer big money from Brooks (teens of millions), we should snap their hands off, because
I'm torn tbh. I think his value is probably currently at his highest, he's come off the back of an excellent Toulon tournament and he's shown flashes of quality this season, but the majority of his performances have been meh. It can be argued he's still finding his feet at this level and that the GF did for him. If you were being critical, it could also be argued that although highly skilled, he's neither strong enough, doesn't have the right frame to put muscle on, doesn't possess pace to effect games at this level on a consistent basis. There's a risk of over projection of talent onto him, from what i've seen of the championship this year, it could be argued that Ojo, Grealish, Onomah, Brereton, Dowell, Maddison (£25m quoted fee), Phillips and Traoré are all a level above.
What makes me a little nervous is that he was in the same academy group as Bersant Celina and Brandon Barker, who looked great players (better players that DB) in their youth, neither of whom have developed as expected, both sharing similar characteristics as DB.
If we do keep him, he has to be a starter.
The decision is do we retain his services & take the risk on him as a player? An ineffective season next year will drop his value or do we sell and let a premiership team take the risk on his development? Possibly getting him back on loan. We're in an Oliver Burke situation. It's worth noting, that although not directly comparable players in style, but similar in age & experience, Jordon Ibe went for £15m off the back of 5 goals in 20 championship games, and Oliver Burke went for £13m off the back of 6 goals in 25 championship games.
I'm trying to say, it doesnt matter, because Brooks wont b going to Everton.I still dont understand what youre trying to say.
Im trying to say that I doubt Lookman or Everton will entertain a loan move to the Championship after a successful Bundesliga loan.

It's not a problem, I wasnt very clear, I'd also like to apologise for the lack of clarity in my post.
Transfer fees valuations aren’t that simple..
There’s 2 prices.
The going rate....this applies to all clubs...then there’s the fee a club is prepared to pay.,,.this figure can be anything, depends how desperate the buying and selling clubs are.
The going rate for Madine is 1 million max.
However he was Bolton’s main striker fully slotting into Bolton’s industrial hoof ball style. Without Madine Bolton were risking relegation,:so a basic player like Madine was worth 5 million plus to Bolton.
Now the issue is very few clubs would pay 2 million for Madine but Cardiff were in a great chance to hit the 100 million plus PL jackpot.
Any injuries up front could mean they lose over 100 million, so in their circumstances paying 6 million for an insurance policy able to fit in to Cardiff’s hoofball style made good business sense, it was a calculated risk for both Cardiff and Bolton and both clubs will be delighted with the deal.
Star reckons that Bournemouth have intimated that they are willing to pay more than £10m for Brooks
"Although the United manager refused to divulge either the source of the approach or identity of those involved, he did confirm Brooks’ potential suitors had suggested they would be ready to pay more than £10m to acquire his services should the 20-year-old become available."

There are worrying signs of civilised behaviour and respect for fellow Blades breaking out on this forum. I'm considering reporting it to Foxy.
I hope this has not ruined the thread.

Don't worry, Bash'em al Auntyfa will be along soon to sort it out, especially as there's a Billy thread currently on the go.
The only way I’d be comfortable with us selling Brooks is if we got 10 million or more & replaced him with a striker for the same price.
