I love the ‘he will have a point to prove’ adage which is trotted out all too frequently when used to describe players who are exposed as lazy and wank, but someone once thought they were the dogs bollocks.

Does Wilfred Bony really think ‘I’ll go back to England, and I’ll show them all...’ or does he think ‘hmmm I can go back to England and earn a pile of cash for practically zero return’.

I really wish it were the case that players thought like this, but sadly it is rarely true.

Except Ravel Morrison. He knows he has a point to prove and will finally show his full potential under Wilder. Here’s hoping....

You're spot on with that. The thing is, guys like Bony don't have ANY point to prove. Not when they've been raking in £120k per week for not even playing! I mean...I'm a very conscientious, hard-working, bloke - even though I say that myself - but if I could get £120k per week for doing nothing, I think I'd take it and risk becoming a lazy good for nothing so and so. Yes, it probably would spoil me, probably.

How do you motivate someone who's got that kind of dosh falling through the letter box every week? Not with money, that's for sure.

In this particular bloke's case, no one seems to know how old he is! That's well dodgy for a start! What do they do at the medical - count the rings on his trunk or summat?

I think if you took a piece of paper and wrote down all the things that you wouldn't want in a player, this guy will be able to tick the box for most of them. So, for that reason...I'm out!
