O’Connell if this is who you refer to he cost peanutsWorked ok though in the main. As has been stated many times his big ticket signings were pretty poor, Oconnel and Berge apart (IMO) .Most of the players he signed for peanuts have been excellent.

Criticise the business post promotion. Having anything but praise for the business before that is being silly.
"But what about Evans, Leonard etc". 1,000+ high quality performances from Wilder signings that pushed the club to a mid table PL finish, again, for £100m over 3 sessions all in
Fair enough.Missing the point Carlts, (what's new) my point was Wilder prefers to sign British players, that's fact.....not saying there is anything wrong with that if it is successful but it is a bit short-sighted when so many other clubs cast their nets wider and pick up good signings...
Obviously some truth in what you suggest!Wilder is a better manager now than then ( his words )I’ve got a bit of stick for using the #wildersbrexitblades over the past few days in light of us being linked with predominantly UK players since Wilders return so decided to waste a few minutes looking back over his first tenure…

But not having a pot to piss in is exactly the reason why foreign players should be bought, they are cheaper and in general they are better. Takes a lot of research and good scouting though, but why bother doing that when Joe Bloggs is available on a free from the Dog & DuckYes, but half of Wilders time with us was either in League One or the Championship. Hardly an attractive proposition for foreign players…plus the fact we haven’t got pot to piss in.

Look, our scouting network probably isn’t the best, also our inability to pay the same as our peers makes “Sheffield who?” a non starter for many foreign internationals. But that might just give youngsters like Osula, Brooks, Arblaster etc an easier route into the first team. But not having a pot to piss in is exactly the reason why foreign players should be bought, they are cheaper and in general they are better. Up the Aryans.Cool your jets, Adolf.
Reinhard Heydrich was, and he was a real evil bastard.Up the Aryans.
Funny how Hitler preached the Aryan shtick when him , Goebbels and most of his ilk were exact opposites.
That's what was meant by the term "Good Scouting"It's not just 'good scouting ' though.
You have to set your stall out with a well funded long term plan. Brentford for instance, decided they couldn't compete with Arsenal/Spurs/Chelsea/CheatinAmmers academies, so put massive resources into research and video analysis.
It's not something you flip to and from, as managers come and go. It needs long term vision and more importantly, long term financial commitment from the owner.

What a pathetic weakly little creature you are. Calling someone a pig or a Wendy just because they don't share your stupid and precious opinion about how everything in United world is wonderful and fantastic.Look at Wednesdays spending on foreign players and where its got them ?
Decades out of the top league and a small portion of their massive fanbase coming on here and pretending to be blades

It certainly worked for us, that old school British way of the changing room, sometimes foreigners just don’t get the banter im pretty sure if most of us went into a Spanish or Italian or Romanian dressing room we’d feel a bit alienated too.
