I thought the OP was going to say "Wasn't he too hot wearing it?"

It looked a bit toasty in the sun but he kept it on throughout. Maybe he too thinks it's a lucky charm?

In contrast, Edinburgh looked a bit or a twat

The tracksuit enabled him to hold the badge. He didn't go so far as to kiss it, but as he left the pitch he was grabbing it. In fact he kept re grabbing it... Good passion!

Hope its a cloth one though, as I'm not sure these iron on transfers will last too long if they keep being Wilder grabbed!

Chris, good work fella lets have more badge grabbing moments!

Stocksbridgers [Valley Boys] Dont were suits , they wear something else and not necessarily with two arms and two legs etc on it .

I'm reading Hodgys book, 'Between the Posts'. When United were promoted to Div 1 (premiership) in the early 60s the team were promised a bonus, something for a rainy day.
They each got a raincoat and a barometer.

I'm just reading the same book. I didn't realise that Hodgy was the Blades player representative in the late 1950's and early 1960's. He seemed to be the Yorkshire representative and was quite vocal about the abolition of the maximum wage. He played for England 5 times but was replaced by Ron Springett. Not exactly sure how all the dates fell into place but it crossed my mind that his involvement in the abolition of the maximum wage may have upset the 'suits' at the FA and this affected the number of England appearances.

A great read.
