The tracksuit enabled him to hold the badge. He didn't go so far as to kiss it, but as he left the pitch he was grabbing it. In fact he kept re grabbing it... Good passion!

Hope its a cloth one though, as I'm not sure these iron on transfers will last too long if they keep being Wilder grabbed!

I'm just reading the same book. I didn't realise that Hodgy was the Blades player representative in the late 1950's and early 1960's. He seemed to be the Yorkshire representative and was quite vocal about the abolition of the maximum wage. He played for England 5 times but was replaced by Ron Springett. Not exactly sure how all the dates fell into place but it crossed my mind that his involvement in the abolition of the maximum wage may have upset the 'suits' at the FA and this affected the number of England appearances.
