Wilder's refusal to use 5 subs

Seems odd we haven’t got Clarke or some of the kids making up the numbers. But I suppose there isn’t much point if they’ve no chance of getting on the pitch.

To make a point about lack of squad depth and the transfer budget presumably?
He's had 60mil to spend, and the future budget has been affected by the worldwide pandemic, it'd be a pretty stupid point to make.

I think there's every point, especially for the young ens. It's an experience if nothing else and costs nothing.

No idea mate. Some odd looking things happening at the moment, on the face of it.
Yep. If as Oldun suggests it's a point about lack of depth and transfer budget with a steady £60mil spent and a worldwide pandemic ravaging football imo it's poor form from Chris. But I don't think it is that. It's just bizarre imo not to put 2 kids on the bench.

Only one possible explanation left. He's making a point, and results are secondary 😅

Did we extend Clarke's contract until the end of the season?

This, if literally every other senior player is injured (is Verrips out as well?) then list two kids.
We have no left sided cover, what harm would putting Norrington Davies on the bench do?

I can hear CW in his post match interview already “well just compare the squads, we can’t compete with that sort of money, we could even fill our bench tonight”

Doesn’t matter about who’s on the bench, just fill the fucker, add some confidence into essentially a team lacking form. Daft decision from Wilder.

Apologies. I haven't been through the whole thread. But. Maybe. The Young Lads, your Slater, your RND, your Smith. Perhaps they haven't been through the correct COVID-19 Protocols. Maybe they haven't had the right tests on the right day. Maybe they haven't been isolating in the PL agreed way. Maybe they haven't got the right paperwork and apps on their phone. These are Mad Times. Wilder is not really allowed to pick who he wants for these post season, sterile, snot test friendlies. "Available for selection" is a complex call. Maybe.....

Are any of those youngsters you mentioned even close to the first team? Or would they basically be making up the numbers with little to no chance of getting on?

Wilder just being consistent. Won't play young players just because we all want to see them. They need to prove they are good enough first. Clearly they haven't. Or more likely as Phil has said, haven't been following COVID protocols etc.

Tyler Smith is ineligible as he has already played for 2 different clubs already this season and you can’t ply for 3 in any one season, RND I think is injured and Regan Slater was due to play but because the club agreed a season long loan with Scunthorpe the F/A say he is ineligible because he wouldn’t have been eligible for the first game in the regular season

Eat a skyscraper sized piece of humble pie, Ricky. Sorry, Herbert, Carruthers.

See after the next back to back defeats at which point you can once again be like a pig in muck and explain to us mere mortals where Wilder is going wrong and how you finished Football Manager.
