Wilder's Reaction

Just listened to it.

Sugar coating a turdy display is what I heard.

"It exactly went the way I thought it would pan out" is not what a fan wants to hear even if it is followed by "we needed to rap up their 4 up front" or words to that affect.

It really is sad to hear the interview although he was just trying to be positive.

Problem is that as soon as he admits that he spent £100m on a load of rubbish, he's basically sacked himself there and then.

Hmmm. Maybe he isnt coming out and saying 'we are total sh1t' because the post-Leicester comments last season did a lot of damage in the dressing room and he regrets it?

I've really not liked his approach this season. To not go out on our own terms (having a go, not sitting on own crossbar for 90mins) is really sad.

4 years ago I, and a few thousand others, were at Gigg Lane. Let’s not forget that.

If we go down we go down. So fucking what.

If we go down with a record low points total, so fucking what.

Wilder or no Wilder, life and football goes on.

I have always believed that when the good times eventually do turn up, as sure as eggs is eggs, a more testing period will follow on from this. It’s one of sods laws !!

I also believe that in the grand scheme of things, it’s a good thing. Lends perspective.

Tough it out fellow Blades 😀

Has he been asked if he’s considered his position as manager?

It’s a fair question to ask given how bad we are. I don’t see the point in asking the same old questions leading to the same old answers.

Exactly. He took the praise, he can take the shit.
This, he was happy to soak up the plaudits before “look what I’VE made happen with a bunch Championship/L1 players” Well, with the purchases you made, they’re still the same standard Chris so, where’s your magic touch gone? Oh that’s it, it’s all their fault now..... if he had the decency to say, “ I need to work harder to help them get us back to how we were.” I would have some respect for him. It’s not saying”it’s all my fault” but at least puts it as a collective issue. To keep bleating on as he does will alienate everyone around him and for that reason, I can’t see him turning this around .....ever.

My only feesible explanation to the downturn in wilders attitude to interviews is that

A) He's not answerable to Radio Sheffield

2) they are number 2 or 3 in a line of many asking the same questions. Flogging a dead horse these days.

He has been asked if he'll walk, his answer was "if it was the right thing for the football club".

We haven't got the midfield (or defence) to have a go. We'd go from losing by 1 or 2 to getting absolutely dicked.

We simply ain't got the staff.

The break was on for them when we lost it high up as it was. Imagine what would've happened if we'd committed even more men forward, with Eze on one side and Zaha on the other?

Don't agree, we could have lost 14 games 8-0 but won 2 games, still be in a better position than tamely losing every game on the back foot
