You're wrong.No he doesn't
We don't put first time crosses in. By the time we've played 20 pointless passes back and forward the opposition has all angles covered. It's too slow and too predictable. We need to put earlier balls in. Give the strikers a chance. No one has the balls to do it at the moment.
Feels like we're damned if we do, damned if we don't with it. We're trying to work the perfect crossing opportunity because we know we don't deliver well first time but that's making us too slow and allowing defences to sit tight.
One of the four or five crosses that went right across the box with everyone missing it?Which chance would he have scored?
Wilder has made loads of mistakes, getting 4 points from 6 out of the massives isn't one of them.

When he first came in, about half a dozen games into the season, he kept talking about how he wanted players to be braver and move the ball quicker. That's what's needed now. It's not that bad but it's not good either. We kept the ball well, moved it side to side, but it's all a bit too slow and predictable to stretch teams enough. And, unfortunately, we play some nice overlapping football to players who get about one cross right out of every twenty. Only one decent one all night and Donaldson nearly flicked it in.
Second half we worked probably the best crossing opportunity only for Basham to uncharacteristically blast it into the Kop. At other times Duffy ignored Baldock or Basham, better placed to cross, and sent it in to be cleared easily. Too many times tonight we made the wrong decision that cost us a chance.
I think the substitution didn’t help matters tonight if I’m honest. Wilson was already waiting to come on when the red card was awarded, and I think Wilder would have benefited from taking a few minutes following that to see whether this was the right change. Donaldson had provided more of a threat than Clarke, and I didn’t feel we had as much following Wilson’s introduction. I was amazed that we didn’t see Sharp introduced to be honest, or a switch in formation, as we were never going to create the sort of opportunities for Wilson to run onto the way the Wednesday backline was so deep.
It wasn’t Duffy’s game at all. He was barely allowed on the ball first half, and second half seemed to make the wrong decisions nearly every time. Fair play to Wednesday – their approach tonight nullified him, and Clarke. I am one of the staunchest defenders of our magnificent system, and hate to see it switched at a time it’s creating opportunities, but tonight was an example where we clearly needed to try something different and we didn’t.
In the end, we very nearly lost. We didn’t do anything near enough to win. I think Wilder’s in-match management might have been a little off today, but he can have that for the brilliant day at Hillsborough. We will remember that for years to come. I suspect scrapping for a goalless draw will, while being a good result from their point of view, not really have the same impact...
