Apropos of very little, "Lucketti (sp) " translates into Italian as "padlocks". Given catenaccio translates as chain-lock I lament that our ex defender Chris never had a season in Italy!

I think it covers the old version and history of Catenaccio, not the modern day adaptations, Tifo do some really great videos on Tactics, Old and New, but yet to do the tuffty ball we play.

It’s not a modern day adaptation though. It was used in the sixties. The Libero came to symbolise Catenaccio, when people talked about Catenaccio they invariably meant the sweeper system. Even if that isn’t strictly correct (because it’s more of a philosophy than a formation) it should have been at least mentioned.

I think the Inter side beaten by Celtic, that was referred to at the end played with a sweeper.
