Morning mate. It’s just bad around, I get where you’re coming from but I have a friend who knows Alan Knill pretty well & he has no interest in being the main man (if that’s what you’re suggesting).
Going back in for Wilder is a backwards move now, there’s definitely an argument for he should have never been sacked & when you look at where we are now it’s hard to disagree.
But for god sake let’s try something else, there’s some good managers out there who are currently at clubs & unemployed. Much better than Selles who is miles out his depth
Wasn’t quite sure (Knill would be the first manager to not attend press conferencesMorning mate.
No, not suggesting that AK comes in as boss atcsll.
It's clear he doesn't want that, but to paint over his name, as is happening, in the clamour for Wilder's return is missing at least 50% of the discussion and is utterly ignorant of the dynamics of that pairing
But, maybe he is to respectful, professional and quiet for our needs.
Not 'one of our own' in more respects than not being born here.
His name deserves better is all I'm saying.
We won't finish top 6 even with CW here. With all the change around the club I suggested 6-12th and stand by itThe biggest issue all along is that the owners have tried changing everything in 3 months when the reality is it will take 3 or 4 years to implement everything needed and get it working as they would want it. Sacking CW was not the issue in the summer, hiring a laptop manager who is utterly clueless and out of his depth is the issue. Truth is they should have stuck with CW unless they had a better option, and now we are here. I wasn’t completely against changing in the summer and understood some reasons why you would do it (although I would have stuck) but now I don’t see a better option than CW (Dyche isn’t coming to the champ unlesss for a ridiculous offer)
What happens now and the planning is vital. All the foundations for the club are there, but the structure needs improving and this is a long term job as well as the off field stuff ie training ground.
On the pitch it will improve straight away. The utter horse crap we only played well 4 times last year needs to stop. We will be organised, we will get players who don’t get out run and we will not have our best player sat watching for an hour , or our best striker sat watching for an hour. This squad can still finish top 6 for 2 reasons. One the ability is there and 2 this championship is very poor and as bad as it has been for some time.
Great and fairly democratic because its what about 75% on here want and about 95% want that go to the matches!!He will be back in charge this week
2/3 seasons of boring style football that grinds out results and gets us up to the prem. Then we establish ourselves like a palace or Brentford say, from there we start to play attractive entertaining football with prem quality players. Would you accept that journey? If someone could wave a magic wand and make us get 92 points every season and sometimes go up, with the caveat being the style of football is going to be exactly the same as last season, that would be the point at which I would bow out. I go to football to be entertained not watch a number increase on a board
That is spot on.Eh???
He left us in the shit the first time around because he'd spent the budget in the summer.
He brought several players in as projects because he thought everything he touched turned to gold.
2nd time round he bottled it at the end. Lost the plot at Plymouth completely.
I suspect he lost his job in the summer as his ego wouldn't let him adapt.
Your question is hypothetical - we never win fuck all.
I can see the logic in the new owners trying to change this, but they've picked the wrong man.
Wouldn’t happen under Wilder….the established prem team.2/3 seasons of boring style football that grinds out results and gets us up to the prem. Yeah could well be true but what I’m saying is more about our style of play no matter who’s in charge. Sacrifice entertaining football for a while for the end goal I mentioned?Wouldn’t happen under Wilder….the established prem team.
Last team to establish themselves is Forest and in 3 years they've spent 600 million, the manager is a part of the equation but the main bit is an owner thats willing to bank roll 200 million on players and the same again for wages every season.Wouldn’t happen under Wilder….the established prem team.
Never been more happy to be wrongWilder wouldn’t take it if he was offered it. No chance.
This is the opposite of what we should do. You don’t just switch your style of play up in pre-season whilst stepping up to the hardest league in the world.Yeah could well be true but what I’m saying is more about our style of play no matter who’s in charge. I understand fully what you are saying. My initial point was more aimed at the fact some people didn’t enjoy last season’s football as at times it was boring to watch. This is the opposite of what we should do. You don’t just switch your style of play up in pre-season whilst stepping up to the hardest league in the world.
It takes a long time to engrain. If you want prem football then you have to lay the foundations of it whilst in the championship and then carry that momentum up. We did that under Wilder in his first stint.
He will be back in charge this week
And the circle jerk around the Sheffield born chosen one will continue.Eh???

Just say this wet dream of some does happen. What happens if he doesn’t start picking up results, how long do we give him. What happens if we are still bottom by Christmas with no chance of promotion are we going to get restless again? One or two noises knocking around now saying it's sorted.
I personally wanted a change after last season, not just because of the play off final result, but just thought that we were lacking ideas in quite a few of the games last season.
But, if he is coming back, then I wish him all the best and hopefully he can get a few quick wins in the bank to lift the mood and see where it goes from there?
As long as he keeps slapping his badge a bit and guz t'pub ndat, it'll be reightJust say this wet dream of some does happen. More likely interim short term contract if it is Wilder until they work out what to do longer term. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s until January or the end of the season
