It’s our ninth season not being in the league below. We’ve played three in the league above since then and with the exception of last season, finished every other season in the top half of the league we are currently in.

Should we have been happy in league one that we were no longer in Division 4? What’s the cut-off for historic finishes defining how you should feel about the present?

Wilder is a Blade the same as Warnock and something I think deep down if you strip back any Blades fan DNA is grit, fight and determination. We have always done better fighting to get a scrappy win and bizarrely we all prefer it to "easy watching" lets buy an Arsenal season ticket and sit in a posh padded seat watching a squad worth £100s of millions. At this moment in time until the club can stabilise we don't need luxuries, we need players that have a connection to the fan base and grind out results. It wont be pretty at times but that's we are at.

They had 19 shots and more than 3x our expected goals.

Yes, sometimes you have to win ugly. But that's normally said with the caveat that you can't play well every game. We don't play well any game.

The tactics and performances are the same now as they were two years ago when we relied on a much better defence keeping it tight, and much better attackers knicking a goal. Over longer term its not sustainable which was proved by us losing 3 times in a week to bottle automatic and then throw away the lead at Wembley.

Buzzing with the win last night. But the result masks the performance and had we lost, we couldn't have any complaints. We won because we have a better keeper than them and their finishing was crap.

Wilders the right man for the job right now. We need a steady hand. But let's not kid ourselves that he's not at fault for us having to sell now we've lost parachute payments. We still have a top half budget full of players he brought in and enough to complete more than 19 passes in 20 mins Vs Blackburn

Aye there are a few, Cooper was great again, Blaster was decent and Doherty is back on the pitch.

Blackburn put out an extremely tired team wracked with injuries. If they had a fit striker to start today and one off the bench I feel they'd have won that.

Really happy with the win, my big hope is that we start to look like a better team after the international break.

If you think we played hoofball in the Prem you've lost your mind. Our tactics and football were exceptional despite having players nowhere near the level.

We are playing very direct football now, I think the main reason is to take some risk out of our play to make us more solid.

Oh I agree, it was damage limitation every match. It wasn't even direct football because we could never get the ball. But much of that game last night (particularly first 20 mins of second half, was exactly the same).

I'm certainly not disappointed we won last night, but like the commentators on Sky and many of us have said, it was a shock we came out with three points, when really I don't think anybody could've had any complaints if Blackburn had won that comfortably.

Birmingham - Not much in the game at all. We offered literally nothing, they were slightly better.
Swansea - Another 0-0 where we didn't offer much, likewise with them, but at least we were able to restrict them to very few chances.
Cardiff - If not for Cooper, we'd have lost. Very fortunate to come away with a point, they had nearly 70% possession and 28 shots.
Bolton - An incredibly very fortuitous win. Cooper made many good saves in the second half, and felt like we were holding on at times.
Norwich - Got what was coming to us. A good side at this level who have been very good in 2026 and beat us comfortably.
Blackburn - A very lucky win versus a depleted side without a striker. Despite this, They had 19 shots, dominated the ball etc.

In the six matches we've played so far, only Norwich, Birmingham and possibly Swansea will be in the top half come the end of the season. I think we have been able to get fortunate results against the Cardiff's, Blackburn's and Bolton's, mainly due to their lack of quality especially in the final third and because we possess one of the best, if not the best goalkeeper in the division. I know it's early days and we've lost huge creativity in Brooks, Hamer and O'Hare, but from what I've watched so far, we're ponderous, dull, lacking in creativity, we're not a team that are possession based, frankly the opposite. It would be fine if we had real pace on the break, but we don't have that.

Tony Mowbray said after the game that Blackburn haven't been able to train for weeks. Weeks! They're a poor side, no doubt about it, but I'd say we have more resources available than them right now, but they seemed to have a structure, a way of playing, an identity, something we totally lack right now. It took us over half an hour to register a shot...

Over the six league games, I'm amazed we've picked up nine points. Maybe in the next ten or so matches, things will balance themselves out. I know it's about points, not performances, but I really hope to see improved performances in the coming weeks as I'm certain if we continue to play the way we are doing, we'll lose more than we win and we'll be in a relegation dogfight especially with a potential points deduction looming.

The fact is, to win a game of football, you must score more than the opposition. If you do that, you deserve to win.
