For me, I like Warnock in the sense the my late teens were around the time of the cup runs and then soon after, the promotion to the premier league. I thank him for some fantastic memories. I try not to sweat the negative stuff thereafter however, as it's been and gone.

He went down in my estimations on Monday night alone though, for appearing to feel his side deserved something from the game. We battered them, absolutely battered them.

I'd never given too much thought previously towards WIlder and Warnock's contrasting styles, other than that how fortunate we had been to have experienced two life-long Blades take the job and deliver success for the Blades, as a Blade (when at the helm, in Warnock's case - I know many dispute his Bladeyness now) . Then it hit me in a brief moment, watching the sky coverage back. The difference...

...every cut away to the dugouts showed Warnock moaning, berating the fourth official, in his ear. We all knew this about him before now, but the contrast with Wilder just really reiterated and hit home Wilder's class. Warnock was losing and he hated it, he wanted to blame everyone else - but his side, who looked anything like deserving of second place in the league. Warnock kept mouthing off. What happened next?

Warnock: continues moaning to official.
Wilder: walks over to them. "What's up?"
Official: briefly explains.
Wilder: matter of fact "It doesn't matter".

Conversation ends there. End of. Class and respect delivered by Wilder. A focus on trying to affect the game in the way that he can, not in bemoaning what has been and gone.

All that's missing is a younger quality striker - but , unfortunately , it's on the solution to that very narrow but expensive gap , that the ultimate fate of our Club depends.
