Would have needed 3 years not 3 months, and only then if Wilder was assistant manager.Nice how Wilder gets time to turn it around but not Selles.
Never change, United. Always look backwards.

Shows what you know .....NOWTHe's crap.
Never wanted him this time, last time, or the time before that.
Wasted millions, no idea on tactics or substitutes.
Wilder aaaahhhht
These are the same bunch of players many of us lambasted as useless at the start of the season. And they were useless. Something's changed. Playing with a smile on their faces now, enjoying their football. It was clear, or it is now, that we didn't have a bad team just an underperforming one. Tactics were wrong. Management was wrong. Wilder has to take credit for turning it around. Now we have confidence.
One huge change in the last 3 games is not one attempt to play out from the goalie - which was killing us.Huge win today. We were outstanding first half, second half we ultimately had to show our resilience to gut it out. Leicester have plenty of quality.
Another building block, but we are playing much better - more direct and creating more chances.
It’s promising and really enjoyable as a fanbase to see a team and unit emerging, but another big test ahead.

Why didn't Wilder change that immediately instead of continuing the farting about in our own box / our own half ?
We were playing shite and losing games AFTER he came in.We’d lost our first 5 games, looked absolutely shite and had a squad of absolute misfits, including 5 loans of which none have made anything like a significant positive contribution to the side.
there’s absolutely no way that play offs can be considered ‘the minimum’ when he came in.
Yeh , good point.Who knows, but I don’t necessarily subscribe to the fan fiction that it’s always easy to change stuff around straight away. Injuries, training ground form, individual motivations contribute to the decision making process which were not privy to.
Not sure I completely agree with your first paragraph. We were still losing but just less crap. Anyway, I’ve been negative enough and I need to park that.Anybody expecting a 2 match turn round was hopelessly optimistic.
It was going to take time, it has, and we are now so much better.
And we have the JTW to come.
Onnads and uppads![]()
Agree about Coops. Not sure I completely agree with your first paragraph. We were still losing but just less crap. Anyway, I’ve been negative enough and I need to park that.
This last week has been a turnaround, beating the pigs was pivotal. Lose that and I’m not sure we get much from the other two games either. That has given us momentum on the pitch and mentally as well.
Caveat time now (I’m sorry there had to be one). Our new found and well earned confidence is very brittle, as demonstrated in the 2nd half yesterday. But we remained resilient enough to get it done.
I have questions about Cooper. Not about ability, he has tons of that. He’s lacking confidence, something that is vital to a keeper. Also, he’s deffo carrying a back injury and has been for some time.
The alternatives, and this remains a hill I will die on, are nowhere near good enough. One of the priorities for January is a solid back up with experience. We don’t need plastic internationals, we need a keeper with ability and a cool head.
We played very well vs Leeds in the home fixture. Up until the equaliser. Then they went for the jugular. My Leeds supporting mate was very worried until that point.Yeh , good point.
Interesting though , that the last 3 games have been much better than most of the games that got him the 92 points last season.
Coventry are running away with the league , but despite losing we gave them a good game and we're ahead.
Contrast that with our 4 games v Leeds & Burnley last season.
On paper we're a weaker side this season , but have performed way better than last season v the top of the league.
At the very least, I am optimistic for some exciting entertainment from us , never mind where we finish.
It's ok - Knilly's legs can't bend any furtherHe jumped on Knill's back at the end as they left the pitch.
I'm just pleased he didn't do it to a few of our players![]()
As you are no doubt aware , Coops was cheap coz of known prior knee injuries. Not sure I completely agree with your first paragraph. We were still losing but just less crap. Anyway, I’ve been negative enough and I need to park that.

Do people truly believe that he was been "treated" for an actual injury? As you are no doubt aware , Coops was cheap coz of known prior knee injuries.
He was treated for this on the pitch yesterday.
He's had 13 games. We've won 6. Hardly brilliant if taken out of context but the miles off it when we came in it certainly is a improvement. We were playing shite and losing games AFTER he came in.
Dunno why it's taken him until last Sunday to change from bloody awful tippy tappy frustrating play out from the back at a snails pace football
To
Boot it forward (accurately) pressurize the opposition attack quickly move like lightening football.
The games we should have won and didn't
Anyway , he's finally worked out what every fan could have told him ,
Bless him![]()
WUEDP?
Teams play that way when they have a lone striker, longer ball doesn't work if this system is being used, unless your Man City or equivalent. One huge change in the last 3 games is not one attempt to play out from the goalie - which was killing us.

WUEDP?
So let me get this straight - we beat the bottom team, the third from bottom team, and just hold on against the ninth from bottom team, and we have to assume that this is managerial genius and we should all be sucking Wilder's dick rather than the team doing exactly what is par for the course?
Yeah I knew about the knee thing. I thought it was it’s back as that’s what they said on radio she’d so thank you for clearing that one up.As you are no doubt aware , Coops was cheap coz of known prior knee injuries.
He was treated for this on the pitch yesterday.
I fully agree with you that if he also has a vulnerability in his back , we should definitely get a solid no. 2 keeper in January.
In my eyes , Davies has shown he's not up to this level and Faxon looks like a very slightly built teenager who is not ready to tolerate the rough & tumble of a Championship campaign.
Please Blades - solve a potential problem that all can see before it bites us on the arse.
It was compared to SellesSo let me get this straight - we beat the bottom team, the third from bottom team, and just hold on against the ninth from bottom team, and we have to assume that this is managerial genius and we should all be sucking Wilder's dick rather than the team doing exactly what is par for the course?
We would have lost these games a few weeks ago so some credit to wilder who is a blade through and through even if he’s not everyone’s cup of teaSo let me get this straight - we beat the bottom team, the third from bottom team, and just hold on against the ninth from bottom team, and we have to assume that this is managerial genius and we should all be sucking Wilder's dick rather than the team doing exactly what is par for the course?

Wilder got 92 points last season and was said to be a top manager
Despite achieving nothing (ie promotion) at the club.
As his previous two seasons here of embarrassing relegations.
Wilder came in after 5 league games.
0 points.
But how many points did he get from those 5 (equivalent) games last season?
15? 13? 12?...
No 4!
3 at Swansea 1 v Bristol City.
Relegation not promotion 'successful' form!
Last season Wilder achieved 88 points from his 41 league games this season.
Usually a second spot finish and promotion.
Statistics
Those 5 games were played largely with half the senior squad Wilder now has.
Wilder's biggest assets are bullying, BS, a subservient idiotic local press and fan base
and an ignorant unconcerned wider press, one of whom at Talksport tipped SUFC for Champions!
As last year we are one of only 4 teams with the advantage of parachute payments.
A promotion challenge IS to be expected.
But he still plays the same inverted 'wingers' that failed to entertain or succeed last year.
Thank God for corners Seriki McCallum and Ogbene to various extents getting crosses that created chances as yesterday.
Thankfully this league is even worse than last year and every game is winnable for a team with the assets to do well and a rare good manager.
If Wilder IS a good manager playoffs IS to be expected
As Hecky achieved after taking over with no money to spend after another failed manager.
Fair point and I suppose my observation says as much about Coventry & the strength of the league this season as it does about us.We played very well vs Leeds in the home fixture. Up until the equaliser. Then they went for the jugular. My Leeds supporting mate was very worried until that point.
Well I never !Do people truly believe that he was been "treated" for an actual injury?
So three wins in three and 3 goals in each is not consistency? Not sure what you have been watching but we also deserved something out of the Coventry game away from home and they are the best in the league. It’s 3 games against two teams that are odds on to be relegated and one team with a PL hang over and a squad not buying into the new manager (sounds familiar).
Going to wait for a bit of consistency before getting the bunting out. He’s definitely got the squad playing to it’s level for now, let’s see how we get on against some of the stronger teams.
For me I will hold my hands up happily and say yes he is proving me wrong and doing a good job as I didn't think Wilder MK3 was a good Idea. From my view the lack of comms of the summer and how we lost top players didn't help a situation, Selles wasn't going to succeed here. However personally and I will always stand by this, I don't understand why we sacked Hecky when we did. He was stripped of players at the start of the season, given next to no budget and was expected to do something. When the season before he got us to the FA Cup Semis and autos. Wilder MK2 wheels fell off and it was less about upsetting people etc but looking at the results from March where we dropped from top of the league to 3rd it was having an effect on the club. Wilder MK3 seems to be more levelled headed in his analysis of the matches and calmer all around which is what we need. He is a great man manager and also being a blade helps if he keeps his head.Chris Wilder bleeds red and white..he's a passionate Sheffield United supporter.
Yes he upsets a few people in opposition..so what ?
He's turning things around, had a look at O'hares interview.. clearly the players are delighted he's back
I look in occasionally here , and I'm stunned at those who want him out
Shame on every single one of you
