Wilder to Derby?

Might be legs in this if Judge Fanny 👨‍⚖️ keeps owners in place for the foreseeable.

Not going to lose any sleep over this one. A poor squad heavily reliant on the loans who have all returned to their parent clubs, hamstrung financially and having to sell their ground to stave off penalties from breaches of P&S rules, in the Championship and of course Richard Keogh - all good reasons why CW would be mental to even consider going.

I could easily see Derby finishing bottom half next season.

Didn't realise 'the massive' had signed Keogh ?

Perfect fit mind !

League One's not an impossibility for Derby over the next couple of seasons.

They seem rather fucked.

I rate our chances of getting Jack Marriott if we want him.

They finished in the same position (6th) as the previous season under Rowett, and ended up with one point less but I didn't see Chelski in for Rowett.

FL looked lost at the Lane in December but got lucky when DirtyLeeds chucked the playoff semi away and suddenly he's Guardiola MkII.

Cowley Brothers or Darren Moore.

But then again, how about a return of Nigel or maybe the other Nigel, our exes.

Lampard the player was/is loved at Chelsea,he jumped in at Derby and did a creditable job for his first go at managing.

He's not done it the hard way like our Chris tho, both be facing each other again next season,Chelsea our first "big" club test.

I would be amazed if they didn't just like WBA did. Getting him however is another thing. Even though he's clearly not happy with the owners, depriving him of a chance to lead his club out in the Premiership next season would be like trying to take a bone off a pit bull.

Derby aren't in good shape both in terms of their squad or financially and going there would be a huge backwards step for CW. It would also be an obvious indication of the state of things behind the scenes at Utd. IMHO any interest will only be used by CW's representatives as a lever during the negotiation of his new contract - just as Sunderland's interest was this time 12 months ago. Also, even though he'd worked miracles at Utd, the challenge of turning Richard Keogh into a footballer may even be beyond CW.

I think they'll go for a manager with Prem experience e.g. Ranieri but it would be a bigger decision for CW should Newcastle come calling, despite the Ashley factor.

Tbh whilst i love CW, if he was to leave Utd and the Premier League for desperate Derby and their championship campaign, then he would only be going for one thing...money. and if anyone wants to put money in front of their boyhood club then off you pop then. I could accept it if he was to move to a big six club, or a Newcastle or an Everton, but anyone else....nah.

I dont think for one second he would consider leaving right now, it would have to be a major club to pull him away. Derby arent that club. I do see him using the 'interest' in him (probably put out there by his agent and pals) as a way of trying to get a good deal with his contract talks at the Lane. Fair enough i suppose, hes just playing the game as do all players and their agents. I would be amazed though if he wasnt SUFC manager this coming season. Now next season....

How do we know.he isn't happy with the owners? That might be a reasonable assumption with the court case, but he has seemed quite chipper whilst it has all been going on.

Provided he has been given (and agreed to) a budget then he just cracks on with his job. We have also secured our most lucrative ever sponsorship whilst the owners argue, so things cant be that bad day to day.

He's gone on record a few times saying it.

I can't help but think that had Chelsea not had this transfer embargo hanging over them, Lampard wouldn't have got a look in. To me it's a mad enough deal anyway, even worse if things had been normal there. Abramovich would have gone for one of the big hitters.

Unhappy enough to walk? Every interview I have seen he is absolutely buzzing about next season. Last season he was far more critical of them.

Cole, Laura or Barnes?

And I hope that continues but he said following Bristol C previous season he was ready to leave because of the owners. And more recently he has again called for them to end the feud. If either decieve Wilder by changing the goalposts he will walk.
