Some nice bits around Burnley
Like most places there's good and bad bits
As soon as you hit a nice bit you realise you're not actually IN Burnley any more though.

I used to have to go there twice a week. As I came off the motorway and turned left at the roundabout, heading down in towards the town I swear to you all I heard was the opening chords of the Coronation street theme tune.

The road from Todmordens got some better views . Colne valley is nice
Barnoldswick and surrounding countryside is really nice

I'll be amazed if Wilder gets a Premier League club, after proving over the last 2 years he's miles off the standard required. Preston would be a more fitting appointment.

We finished 9th last year with comfortably the lowest wage bill in the PL. A PL club would jump at that over some of the no marks we’re being linked with.

He did a great job the first season, especially pre lockdown. But a PL team isn't going to trust him easily after the last 12 months. His sniping at the owner and the perception that he's tactically limited means it's extremely unlikely to happen

Unfortunately, he is so one dimensional there would be a strong possibility this could happen.
Fortunately, he won't get a job in the Premier league and little chance in the Championship.
Division 1 in the next twelve months, maybe, that is if he is bothered, other irons in the fire.
If he takes Lundstram ill fall back in love with him all over again

Burnley always reminds of that bit on the Inbetweeners on the coach and the Burnley fans are singing and will says "I don't mind football fans but Burnley can fuck off" or summat of that nature haha

Depends on how much he paid, if he comes in for the entire squad, then he could rebrand "Burnley" to "Sheffield United"
That would not bode well for Burnley (aka Sheffield United) staying in the Premier League for much longer.

I would argue that was based on momentum, no injuries and the form of the players he bought for the Championship campaign. As soon as he started to sign big money prem players and injuries started to bite, it all started to fall apart.

Can’t see him going to Burnley if he was moaning about the financial situation/board room at United.

If wilder gets a new club and comes back and raids our players, I will consider him to be a bit of an arsehole
If he wants to rid us of the very same players who actually threw him under the bus...Well, I’d line em all up and tell him to take his pick.

Todays 'news' in The Sun is Wilder in contention for the Burnley job should Dyche depart for Palace - now we know The Sun isnt always the font of knowledge, but I could see some truth in it.

2 questions that would pose in my opinion

1 - Is this a gamble by them? are they getting CW 19/20, or CW 20/21? I can see the synergy between the clubs, working class, lower budget, mainly UK players, but if I was the Chairman of Burnley, would the posturing of CW in his last months concern me? Personally I think he will get a crack at it.
2 - more importantly to us, will this start a chain of transfers? Dyche takes Tarkovski to Palace, or he goes to Everton when Dyche leaves, CW then looks at Egan or JoC as a known replacement. Pope has a good Euro, goes to a bigger club, does CW come in for Ramsdale? Would Burnley offer Berge a double your money offer to stay in the Prem?
How many other CW disciples could we/would we be bothered loosing

2 months ago if you said someone came if for Rammers I'd have drove him there myself, but he seems to have found his game now, and I reckon a season in the Champ will do him good, and he will be a solid No1.

Working class????

After how big an arse wilder has been since last Christmas and how s hit we have been this season I can’t see him getting a job in the PL ever again ... unless he takes someone up !

Burnley is the perfect job for wilder. they won’t give him any money to waste so he can concentrate on his strengths and not trying to crow bar poor signings into the side.

that said i really can’t see it being an attractive job, moving on from a legend there in dyche. Owners shown little or no inclination to invest in an aging squad

you can see a season like ours if it goes the wrong way abs falls apart without dyche.

To be honest I don't care where he goes as long as his team doesn't face ours this season, in fact never would be better

new owners at Burnley, who effectively put them in debt by buying them, so hardly likely to sanction big spending, and you would think a few players might follow Dyche out of the door, if Palace finally decide to let Zaha leave & Eze now recovering from a ruptured Achilles, will Mcneil be a target

Burnley in their current state minus Dyche is not a sideways move to/from Palace with theirs.
Palace is a big rebuilding job but they will throw a lot of money at it. They’ve got an aging squad all of which on high wages, once that dead wood is cleared out, there will be a lot of potential for the right man.
