Exactly EVERYTHING to do with that substitution. We were taking it to them with Dowell on the pitch but as soon as he takes him off and brings Cranie on, we invite them on to us.

Without them coming on to us in our box, those individual errors are less likely to happen.

It made perfect sense. We were playing with more of a flat 3 in midfield tonight, and Cranie/Basham is more defensively solid down that side. Nobody would be talking about that substitution if we hadn't gifted them 3 goals.

It’s just my opinion and not fact obviously, but I honestly felt as though we lost the midfield once Dowell went off & Cranie came on. They seemed to constantly find a way through the midfield time after time then and the front 2 had no support.

Thought bringing Washington on had more of a negative impact, regarding the goals you can’t really plan for 3 mistakes like that. The sad thing is once that 1st one went in you just felt it was gonna go tits up.

We need to pick ourselves up now, as we usually do to be honest. Not a time to have a pop at the boys but this is one they will look back on with deep regret, ultimately all self inflicted
