As per the subject, has he ever been? Or has he just moved on to new jobs? Sounds like a winner to me and someone that doesn't accept mediocrity.

Personally i like the sound of him. He is informative in his interviews and pulls no punches. Quite clearly, last night was not acceptable and his interview has demonstrated that.

This is not a new scenario. Season after season we have these results. Season after season we change managers and the new manager makes a team by blending old and new.

However, after 3 league games, as like after 2, we're still in the infancy, but we are clearly having major issues. 3 of the back 5 are new, but its no excuse. Wilder hasn't changed the side, they should be starting to know each other and know their roles. Long despite his relative youth in the position has experience of bad form and how to come through it.

I can only currently go on what i hear/ see, so i understand that the goals came from defensive errors and lack of communication. This shouldn't be happening. Where is the leader in the back four (five)? Who is standing up and taking the responsibility back there? Wilson? O'Connell? Long?

Midfield was clearly not working and Flecks withdrawal, if it wasn't for injury, is telling if Coutts replaced him. If James Wallace is fit (unlikely i know) then he should be working his arse off to save his job at the lane.

What will Wilder do now? I think he no longer has a choice but to drop Long, I like Long, but if he has no confidence and the crowd get on his back (rightly or wrongly) at the slightest issue, then he needs that time out. Would I bring Ramsdale in for a debut away at Millwall... Its a risk, but it can't be any worse than being at the lane.

The players have to start playing for Wilder. They are clearly not following instruction so perhaps its time to do things his way instead of coming along for a free ride.

He has never been sacked !!!!!!

UTB

Well if he hasn't been sacked before, why did he come to the revolving door that is Brammal lane?

After 3 league games and 1 cup game resulting in 1 draw (and just the 1 point) and 3 losses, this may seem like a daft point to make, but you also have to take stock and believe that he does know what he is doing.

It will definitely take time...

He believes in the club
He believes in the fans
He believes in the Owners
He believes in his ability to turn things around

Either that or he fancied working for a year out of a 3 year contract and getting a nice little pay off after it.

I'm sure Clough, Wilson, Adams, Blackwell, Weir and Adkins all felt the same, but its not looking good so far is it.......

Clough, Wilson, Blackwell all probably had enough to get the success. Just not the time

Indeed.
No managers seem to get time these days and then we bring in a new bloke and the downward cycle continues.

For the record, im not calling for Wilder to be sacked, but history tells me in a short amount of time, he will be.

Yeah I agree... However, we do have to break that cycle some time

We only need to look across at Chesterfield, but further away at Burton to realise that some managers are able to get results away from SUFC

its early days for Chessie, but Wilsons record isn't exactly littered with success to be fair. Looking at Clough is spot on tho,and im sure Wilder will do well elsewhere after getting the sack from Blades as he almost certainly will, probably before the season is out.

Dunt matter if he's sacked or not, feels like this seasons over already :(

For what its worth this is my last post.

CW seems to talk a good game but everything he says undermines the players he has.

" i need 4 more players" day in day out. That in itself adds more pressure on any starting 11 he puts out.

" attitude of even the new players is in doubt" That is shocking in the extreme as it is CW who has signed them. Was not having the right attitude not a criteria of said players joining our club.

" play to our system" What system? Passing through the thirds? Long ball to Clarke?

I hope for all our sakes he gets this right. I dont really care if its CW or Nooky Bear in charge as long as he gets it right.

For what its worth these are my final thoughts on Keepers, Defenders, Midfield and attack.

Long needs to go on loan, Ramsdale needs first team bench experience EPL Trophy games and u23 games, we need an experienced keeper.

Brayford/ Freeman as good as each other, Hussey poor defender decent going forward, O'Connell / Wilson need to play more games together and will come good, Wright Snr just brought in as CWs eyes and ears for the dressing room, Semple needs first team bench time, EPL Trophy games and U23 games. Another CB needed although that blocks Semples progression even though CW blew smoke up the kids arse and told the world he would be ready at christmas.

Done/ Chapman both light weight with Chapman a gamble, Whiteman/ Basham as good as each other, Fleck/ Duffey will be good enough, Reed not good enough, Sharp should never have been made captain it was too quick a decision, Clarke will be good enough, McNulty should be at least given a chance, Scougal i just cant decide,

K Wallace decent left back cover,

I think my opinions mean i am not convinced in CW, We still have a squad which is much of a muchness and i am a bit fed up after last night.

These are honest opinions and thoughts. Some you will like, some you wont. I think i am as confused as all the wonderful forum followers on here. Up The Blades
