Fulham- They said they might appear to have really good players but several are loanees on big salaries. So they expect big changes for them next season.
Sheff Utd- They said our drop in form as been unbelievable and we need to stop the momentum of losing every week....which will be difficult.

Summary
They commented how last seasons relegated teams (Norwich, Watford and Bournmouth) have all done really well this season in the Championship.
They suggested that theres a massive difference in standard between the PL and the Championship....and it looks fairly weak next season.
Their prediction was WBA should end up champions and eventhough Fulham and Sheff Utd are in turmoil...if both clubs gets their act together then both stand a realistic chance of promotion next season. They took the piss out of our low scoring record and said the next manager appointment for Sheff Utd is key.

Then one of them said he’s recently spoken to Alan Biggs who revealed that he has it on good authority that Wilder is prepared to return to Sheff Utd.
They said if that did happen then you would think it improves our chances for a return.

In the run up to him leaving, he was saying for weeks he wanted to stay and try and get us back up. But that no discussions were taking place with the board regards future which he thought they should have been.
I suspect that the week he left some discussions took place and as has been mentioned both sides couldn't see a way forward sadly.
Given that at this point he wasn't going to be the manager next season for the good of the club it probably made sense to go as much as it may have been better for him too. Afterall that would give the club approximately 2 months before the season ends to appoint a new manager...

As is commonplace too he's not allowed to say too much about his departure too at this moment in time aside from the LMA statement.
All this going out the back door business, he basically couldn't see a way forward to work with the prince, that's basically it. The whole severance package is a bit bizarre though, I do wonder if that's where the mutual consent comes into place rather than resignation too.

It's crazy how far ahead both WBA and Fulham are ahead of us to be honest. Fulham 5 out of the last 10 years in the PL, WBA 8 out of 10 years.

Our advantage was Wilder (pre covid). We have the finances and infrastructure of a mid-table Championship team, we have a small advantage with Parachute money

You say that but you could argue that they are in a similar position to fulham in that a lot of their better players are on loan (gallagher, diagne, maitland-niles, yokuslu) and the ones they do own are being linked with moves (pereira, Johnstone).

Take them out and it's still a decent rebuilding job for a new manager

Talksport in talking bollocks shocker. West Brom's upturn in form has come with the introduction of Maitland-Niles (loan), Mbaye Diagne (loan) and Okay Yokuslu (loan) in January. Add to that their other better players this season probably won't be there next season (Johnstone in goal, Pereira in the #10 role will move to other PL clubs in the summer; Gallagher will go back to Chelsea). That makes 6 of their first choice players they'll need to replace and their owners are also rumoured to be looking to sell.

I don't think any of the relegated sides will be in the greatest shape next season.

That's what becoming a yo yo club does. Wilder kind of thought it could happen which is I think partly why he targeted certain players. Some of these bigger name players that board touted. If we go down are they gonna stick?
Catch 22 as well of course as they could help you stay up. Although Wilder did want lingard. Just didn't want Marcus rojo, adebayor and the like...Don't buy we were ever in with a chance for soucek Btw.

Being a yo yo club a bit isn't out of the ordinary. I mean Fulham, Watford, west brom, Norwich, the list goes on really.

What you have to hope is that at some point you can build into a team that might be more stable like a Burnley or even palace. Dream is Leicester. That pl win which was.out of the blue has set them on a path we' d all want. (Not just winning the league) but breaking into the big 6 so to speak.
