Wilder presser

The fact that Wilder does not think creativity is an issue is a worry, Canon going no where.

He wants a left sided player, I don’t think this will change a great deal.

I stand by we won’t get relegated, but we won’t be challenging for top 6, maybe top 8, but not expecting it.
Think there will be 2 left sided players come in, and 3 before the window shuts. They can sign Webster on top of this after the deadline.
Sometimes what they say and what they actually believe aren’t quite the same thing. Every single manager does it. Didn’t see last weekend but we created nothing against Brum and he said we didn’t do enough. He knows we have to replace Hamer but it will go down to the last day or so I would think.

Wilder has handled the recent pressers admirably. Not many managers are so involved with the clubs they manage to basically provide an owners update. Look at Emry's response re Watkins this weekend. Completely dodged it.

If the owners won't make a proper statement then it's Bettis's role to front up and handle the tough questions, so shame on him.

Bettis ? There’s more chance of Christ being resurrected than that snake actually fronting up… of all the things I don’t like about the club at the minute he’s right up there ↖️

As for wilder you’re right - at the minute it’s better the devil you know - he’s not my choice but probably best positioned to navigate this stretch of the journey.

He’s obviously bright told one thing and then another happens by the owners - who quite frankly have been completely disrespectful to us fans since they arrived - I don’t expect to know about all the ins and outs at our club but some interaction and relationship building with the fans would have been appreciated.

All we get his half statements that say everything and nothing and you can’t build trust with that and trust is what makes it all work….

I want them gone quickly never to be heard of again

Assuming Baptiste is deemed good enough to step in when needed we need one more CB and that seems to be Webster then we've got 2 bigs in McG and Webster and 2 more pacey ones in Tanganga and Baptiste. It would be nice to have one more as cover but beggars cant be choosers.

Then its clear we need creativity and pace. If we do have money to spend and despite him being a nutter and injury prone, I think Illias Chair is the nearest player to Gus in the championship. Whether QPR would sell him or not is dont know but maybe RND could be used as part exchange. Im guessing the pace comes in the form of a PL loan. Id also like to see us bringing in a proper hold up CF.

It largely depends on the player, and it would be fairly easy to research once we know who the players are.

I imagine that all footballers will have done a preseason of some kind, whether it’s one where they can step into a championship season and play meaningful minutes straight away is the issue we might have.

Exactly. Its only like Curtis and Marsh etc. being amongst the first team all summer and playing in friendlies. They're not gonna play for us and are expected to go on loan. But they've had preseasons

Trouble is Bettis can only say/put out what the owners want said m8.

I reckon we will sign 2 CBs in the end. One on loan and then Webster.
Webster might take a bit to get up and running and actually only be able to manage say 60-70mins.

I reckon we will also sign someone for the left side of midfield and another attacking mid/forward option. Again on loan unless a free is available.

If we lose any other key players then we might see some form of replacement there too.

Don’t like the bloke never have never will… and like everyone else on this planet he doesn’t have to do anything … yes they pay his wages but he has freedom of choice …

But yes you’re right the owners need to go first … then Bettis and finally wilder in that order

Freedom of choice isn't freedom of consequence.

If he goes, we could really be in the $hit, if it wasn't his club, I think he'd already be gone. it looks like no spending and expecting a mid table finish as it is. That could quickly turn to relegation battle.

Wilder isnt walking away from his contract with no likelihood of another championship position. Hes now got a free hit this season as if we do badly its the owners fault and if we do well he takes all the plaudits, its a no lose situation for him amd he gets paid a big wage to do it !!

Bettis, Wilder, Hoyland & Allen are only still here because there’s no chance they get another job at the equivalent level. They need the club way more than the club needs them.

No one at a club is irreplaceable.
