I ultimately think we need to move on from him, but with the current board I do think we’d be worse off as they clearly don’t have any form of plan or footballing knowledge.

But that doesn’t excuse Wilder from criticism from things that are in his control. Brooks left at the start of pre-season & Hamer going was always likely yet we’ve wasted our limited resources on Phillips, Jairo, Hamza & Doherty. We have FIVE (or 6 if Hamza plays there) defensive midfielders, and 4 (arguably 3) right backs with Seriki, Doherty, Shackleton & Hamza. Fine these players individually are ones he knows & will ‘do a job’ but what’s the point when half of them will be sat on the bench?

We spent all pre-season playing 4-2-3-1 without having the depth of personnel, then have abandoned this & moved to a 4-4-2 / 5-4-1 that we haven’t prepared for. In fact Wilder point blank refused to switch to a back 5 last season even when the squad was set up for it (one dead rubber against Bristol City aside when he changed the whole team).

Everything about this summer from the board to the manager has felt so haphazard, reactive and so poorly thought out.

We have some individual talent still (Cooper, Seriki, Tanganga, Burrows, McCallum, Peck, Phillips, Donovan, Bamford, Oné) yet we seem to have zero idea how to use them, how to improve them and how to get the best out of them. This is why people are frustrated with Wilder - yes there are things out of his control, but he should be getting more out of this group than he is. The performances to date have been embarrassing and aside from a 6 week purple patch, they weren’t much better last season.

In regards to being creative, both tactically and in transfer market, it’s not great.

In regards to having all you best players sold from underneath you, being giving false hope and little support, it not his fault.

Feel sorry for him, and I’d rather it be wilder managing the club under these circumstances rather than anyone else. He might be the only thing that claws us into a survival place this season. Albeit playing functional football.

I also think we need to move on but it is not just the manager, it is the whole structure of the club from recruitment, tactics, short medium and long term planning. Just changing the manager is not going to alter anything. What we need are owners who have a proper vision of what they want for the club and than to set up a structure and management team to deliver that vision. Football has changed and continues to change but we are not moving with the times. It is a bit like a transport company where the industry is changing to modern electric vehicles and using the latest satellite and route planning technology. We in the meantime are buying second hand diesels with a few miles left on the clock and using the local A-Z.

Exactly, no long term plan and stuck with owners who no nothing and manager and staff should are now well part their expiry date, the whole structure needs changing

Put this to bed.

I think he has run his race with Sheffield United. He has saved us many of a time, but football has moved on! Different tactics being used.

He has been a great servant for the club, but we need to move on from him now. I have a feeling that why Phil Jones has come into the coaching staff to naturally take over at the end of the season, but these first 2 games have been a disaster
How have they been a disaster exactly?

Anyone remember when CW first walked into as manager,im sure he said he'd been to a few games and seen more fans on their phones than watching the match, and he was going to bring a style of football to get the fans off their arses and excited admittedly for 2 seasons he did,but what HE is shoving out at BDBL now is dull defensive and uninspired ,pass us mi phone.Ps please yanks FOXTROT OSCAR out of our club and how about our not got a pot to piss in ex arab owner having a word with his mate who pulled out of the Derby purchase you know the 1 with real dosh

He’s completely lost and hasn’t a clue … if the fans turn (which they will) after the fire sale he won’t know what to do….

He will hate being lumped in with the owners and his ego won’t take not being accepted by the fans

But his ego won’t take being sacked again so he can’t distance himself too much from it

It will make for uncomfortable viewing

If we had owners who'd pay for the players he wants then there'd be no problem. Blaming the wrong man.

I don't feel sorry for him..he,s paid well.

With respect CW's choice of players costing big bucks is at the best very Questionable, not helped by the total shambles of a recutement department the last owner was much better when it came to inputting some knowledge regarding players than this lot,he at least asked for 3 player options

We can certainly do worse but what I'm struggling with regards Wilder, is the vast change in him from first time around.

I appreciate times change and situations change, but his approach seems far away from what it was.

Instead of bold and confident, we seem frightened and timid.

We had a clear strategy despite allowing some players freedom.

Now we make changes based on not sure what, I've little idea in many games what we're trying to do, I see little evidence of a team being coached in a certain way like I have previously.

As said,I’ll give him a dozen games especially with this shitshow. He has started the trend towards getting a pay off, blaming everyone apart from himself, now saying “it’s at the owners door “. And so it begins…..

I find it strange that someone who inisists his total control is the only way the club can operate, is somehow completely blameless in it's downfall.

I find your opinions strange at times.

He clearly does not have total control when it comes to ins and outs....

I get we are in a right pickle, but can anyone explain the subs and formation 2ne half at Cardiff, how we scraped a draw was unreal. How on earth do we send a team out to play like that against Cardiff City. we scored 2 goals in 5 minutes and then s**t ourselves ... But dont blame me blame the players.. CW AKA Double Decker .. 1st class thrown under the bus !

He clearly has control over the ins and almost all of them have played for him before.

You have to question why so much time, effort and resource has been put into executing defensive players when it’s been fairly clear where the squads issues are.

To criticise wilder at this moment in time is lunacy and to want him to leave is just self destructive. It’s a bad spell this 100% but let’s not self implode and feel sorry for ourselves like the pigs did for a full season. O’Hare is really not that good and £7m for a free signing is good business, the only issue of course is the timing once again. Bettis is the man you have got to look at, he’s been here since the start and been the only constant, he’s TERRIBLE at this job and is the single biggest reason we’ve got to this point. The day he leaves I’ll celebrate

So the fact that the ins are always either players he's been after for years or has had before is just a coincidence?

I don’t think it matters whether wilder is manager or not.

We are going into a state of mediocrity and it will be a hard few years for us fans.

What a shame ey.

He's already been frosty with a few interview questions from the past few matches, and a few indirect comments to 'sections of the supporters'

This is usually the first step before it starts to get uncomfortable as you have said.

Nope, I retract my earlier comment.

Windass? Fucking WINDASS? No patience, no wait and see - fuck him off

EDIT Well shit, I bit early on that one huh

We’ve been in this position twice before under him, didn’t replace O’Connell and bought Brewster, didn’t replace Souttar and bought Cannon. Now we have no attacking options with O’Hare leaving.

I don't think they're issues that can be blamed on Wilder

Yes, his recruitment is poor - but both times he attempted to replace JOC and Souttar. Issue is, when you have players that good, you can't replace them

With the Hamsa signing he said , "Again, I'd like to thank the owners and Stephen Bettis who have been very supportive " so who making transfer decisions?

How many of us said in the playoff final season that the football was crap ? And that matches were being won because we had players who could produce moments of magic and turn losses in to draws and draws in to wins ? … we got shot down by people saying “but we are winning”

CW is tactically woeful and if you haven’t got better players you need a very specific way of playing that is effective and helps level the field to your opponents … wilder hasn’t and can’t …
