He didn't say much we already didn't know.
1: The start of the interview took a leaf out of Gary Smegsons book.
He started the interview by bigging up the club, said there was 28,000 there on Saturday, a Smegson style exagerration because there was just under 27K there. He also said he's been to BL several times as a punter in big games but he thought the atmosphere Saturday was one of the best he's known and it's important because he wants to make BL a difficult place for opposition teams again.
2: Asked about Billy Sharp and whether he'll be a success in the Championship, replied that he's a natural scorer and will do a job anywhere. Also praised his leadership qualities.
3: Asked about his spending power for this season. Said that salaries and transfer prices have shot up drastically in the last few weeks, never mind the last few years but he said he'd be doing it his way and looking at common sense value for money. He won't pay silly prices.
4: Asked about our new goalie Jamal Blackman. Said Chelsea's goalie coach was at our match and they have big plans for him, made it appear as though it's a loan with little chance of us making it permanent. Wilder said that he likes how in the tunnel pre match he towers above everyone but said he'd like Jamal to be more vocal, it seems he's a quiet lad off the pitch.
5: Asked about our chances for the season. Just gave the generic non commital you just try your best and see where the teams ends up. He finished by giving big credit to Brentford, said other teams have brought in big players than need to gel where as Brentford have a settled side so it was one of the toughest starts we could have had. Said Brentford will beat better teams than us.
Good interview, spoke loads of common sense and came across well.
