How do we know that there wasn't something in the offer from Utd which wasn't screwing the player over ? It would take an agent to negotiate round this ,the player couldn't possibly do it, not with the bonus culture ,image rights ,tax breaks ,investments ,fees for this fees for that ,contracts are complicated these days.
You mentioned tax breaks, but missed out tax dodges and offshore account needs.

Were there a film crew with Wilder yesterday? He mentioned something about people following him who couldn't believe what went off.

Have you never heard Kev and co bemoan agents before?
You don't often hear other clubs moan about agents (as much as they are scum of the earth) because its part and parcel of the game

How much attention do you pay to the chairmen of other clubs? (you're going to tell me you listen to their every word)

I don't really pay much attention at all but I've heard many people in the game complain about agents.

I hear enough from nearby managers and agents on Radio Sheffield, and none of them complain about agents like we do Kev.

You can cut the 'Kev bollocks out mate, it's a predictable jibe to make when someone is making you look foolish.

Ah, I'll let you believe that if you want Kev. You seem to like believing things you've just made up.

Actually, the one I read says nothing of the sort
(but don't worry about it!)

From The Star

"Chris Wilder has previously stated that he will not process any agreement which guarantees a player first team football at Bramall Lane."

The article says "but talks between the two clubs are understood to have stalled during the closing stages of the window" which suggest to me it didn't go as far as negotiating with agents but i won't worry but would be good to know the truth. Its been reported elsewhere that big clubs loaning out players have been cashing in on their assets and sometimes demand substantial loan fees and this might explain a few things.

You keep throwing your dummy out when things don't go the way you'd like them to.
The way I'd like them to? I'm disagreeing with some bloke on a forum mate, I genuinely couldn't give less of a shit if I tried.

But specifically the paper actually mentions CW's stance on guarantees of loanees being in the team and nothing at all about fees.
And irrespective of agents,I would have thought that finances would have been discussed first and foremost at the outset, yet you honed in on the idea that SUFC weren't able/willing to stump up a fee.
Why did you do that?

Ah but its another good excuse for an idiot to put down the club he reckons to support isn't it.

Think it is Roberto de Fanti who caused problems at Sunderland and Leyton Orient, I think (only did a quick google search)

Straight to the Twats thread with him!

here we are back in the championship holding our own in th and we suddenly have a squad making upthe numbers ,,, really, just fail to understand how some of our fans find negatives in every detail of every day and any player we sign is a poor option , before they kicjk a ball
why
theres no X million pound signs attatched to it

People are just calling it as they see it. Once again McCabe has come out and given it the big I am following promotion talking about top half budget, special signings etc. and once again the reality has proven very different. It’s not all bad though. We have some gems unearthed by Wilder and I fully expect us to compete because of our manager’s ability to bring a team together that is more than the sum of it’s parts. But if he’d been backed and been able to go out and bring in some better quality firepower, we might have been able to do more than just compete.

It’s possible to be critical of McCabe and (once again) disappointed by our incomings without being negative on the club as a whole, acknowledging some of the good players we have and the excellent job our manager is doing. It’s called balance rather than just sticking fingers in our ears, refusing to acknowledge any shortcomings and just pretending everything is perfect.

There's moaning and then there's malicious, agenda-fuelled, carefully rehearsed, vitriolic nonsense. We invariably get the latter. Self-styled Blades who are nothing of the kind, taking every opportunity to undermine the club they risibly claim to support, at a time when there is so much to enjoy.

NBWs.

We get both. Some of the moaning is justified if it’s qualified and balanced against credit where it’s due. But yes, there is probably a small minority who will pour scorn regardless. My biggest criticism is McCabe's failure to learn from his mistakes when it comes to managing expectations. From Beattie flu to game changing investment to special signings and top half budget. He continues to write cheques with his mouth that he can't or won't cash. Perhaps it's all a ploy to sell season tickets. Perhaps he just misreads situations over and over again. Who knows?

Nope.
They get paid for time. As soon as they realise the money to be made they would milk it for all its got, the same as agents.
Politicians....legal profession. Up there as the least trustworthy people you can have and no surprise so many politicians have a legal background.

It’s no surprise many politicians have a legal background because law and politics are inextricably linked. Any sort of sweeping generalisation about entire professions is always going to be inaccurate. In fact, if you group people together by one common characteristic and sling mud at all of them based on the actions of some..... well... you probably see where that type of thinking leads. The fact of the matter is that many people lack integrity and will abuse a position given the opportunity. Politicians and (to a lesser extent and only in certain situations) solicitors have that opportunity. Some will abuse it. Some won’t.

It would seem that Wilder is saying the clubs AGREED some of the deals but the players agents were playing games.
Assume he's talking about Quinna and Sinclair.
Loans should be fairly straight forward, the easiest types of deals to make because they'll only temporary.

They can be as involved, difficult and expensive as a permanent deal. Have a look at the details released for the Sam Gallagher deal to Birmingham, and I know for certain that those details are not the full picture there was more involved.

If this site is typical of supporters, and McCabe is a typical supporter you've answered your own question.

If this site is typical of supporters and McCabe is a typical supporter, I'm picturing him in a vicious cycle of self-loathing, then deciding to stand up for himself, then self loathing again.....

In that case, stay away from sharp implements until you're back in a 'stand up for yourself' mood again!

think mccabe will share the disappointment in some cases , hes sanctioned the spending otherwise we would have had bids turned down
some of those we know we enquired about were in the million plus categories so the money will still be there in January and for higher wages on decent loans in a fortnight
everything isnt perfect or wed be 4 places higher , but 5th says its not as cataclysmically bad as some try and make out and shows it is a top half budget ,even a top 6 budget a la huddersfield wouldnt you say

are there any positives at all about where we are in your world
it seems to be one of never ending impending doom and failure

I used to always be positive and happy at work and often was astounded by some people who were always down in the dumps no matter what , sun or rain , guess some people love to wallow in misery
personally really excited about our chances ,,, why , team spirit , worth more than buying so called quality , that can see a new rolex above getting stuck in

feel really sorry for birmingham fans , the next club our Harrys sending bust

:D

I meant the cross section of fans being condensed to one person. I.e. the split between the pro and anti-mccabers.

We've gone for players with offers that have been rejected by their clubs because they were not sufficient to tempt them to sell

These deals wouldn't have even got as far as the players agent having to do anything because they were rejected out of hand.
Devante Cole knew we wanted him and wanted to come here so obviously his agent was involved.
