Wilder-Northampton Town

I felt sure Wilder would raid his old club for at least a couple of players but so far nothing. It may be we can't afford the only ones he thinks will strengthen our side but nevertheless I'm surprised he's not bought any of his old players.

In fact it surprising he hasn't really signed anyone at all from division two. I thought with the number of years he's spent down there he'd have identified a couple we can afford and that are under the radar.

Probably an indication of how much prices have gone up, Oxford seemingly got 3m for Roofe and around 1.5m for Odowda, both way out of our budget.

He signed Jake Wright from Oxford whom he knew all about.

I think we were interested in Ricky Holmes from Northampton but he went to Charlton.

It's probably worth noting too that he has said Marc McNulty is very much in his plans after he netted 11 League goals for Pompey.. In comparison, Kemar Roofe scored 18 for a promoted team.

Roofe scored 26 goals in all competitions including 2 v Swansea in the FA Cup, he was also voted division 2 player of the year. He's way better than McNulty and will end up in the premiership in the near future.

Wright was signed because he was on a free, I'm surprised Wilder hasn't identified the best centre half in div two and ought him. Maybe there's still time as Aaron Pierre is still at Wycombe but I was hoping we might sign Curtis Nelson.
