It’s not beyond the realms of possibility. Our income will be circa £120m and if we’re prudent our wage bill will be at a level we can cover with the parachute payments, which will be around £40m. It’s quite possible that we’ll spend £50m on transfers fees over the two windows.
I’d suggest it’s far more likely than spending it on a new kop, particularly when a good championship player will cost more than £10m, as most do these days.
I expect Wilder to be given the opportunity to spend £50m, I don’t demand that he does, there’s a difference. If he spends £10m and says hand on heart he’s confident we’ll stay up and didn’t want to spend more, I’ll be happy.
