Wilder knows exactly what we need - he knew last summer.

Last summer we tried to sign Holmes and Leonard - goals and assists is what they offer and that's exactly what we need.

Convert all that dominance into more points.

Cole too would have added extra pace and goals. Donaldson has done well in the meantime when fit.

Wilder will sort it and who knows what we can achieve.

Calm down, as soon as Evans gets back we'll win this league.

WUEDP?

I think he could easily chip in with 5 to 8 goals before the season end. That would be a fantastic return from him, all things considered

putting my serious head on (the 'how many would he score thought?' crossed my mind as i put the previous response on) I was thinking about 5, so I'll go 4-7 goals.

He can finish. He can also strike from long range - something we are really lacking at the minute.

While ever we're pumping hard n low balls across the box like we are, he will score goals.

Like he has so far this season. I think he's finished , a waste of time and money. Wow, am I going to get it!

You wish, hopefully this fishing exped leaves you empty handed.

We need at least three and get them in quickly early January. Its all in our hands, Villa Leeds and pigs to play at home, and also wolves away all in the coming weeks. For me we need three in early January. a striker, maybe Devante Cole? a centre mid, Adam Clayton would be my choice, and a flair player, Jamie murphy would be my choice in that position. That would be a perfect realistic window. I'd love a marquee signing, someone like Leonardo Ulloa on loan but cant see a big name striker like that coming. Not because were not an attractive club but because we wont pay the stupid wages.

He'll tell you what he wants, what he really, really wants,
"I wanna, (ha) I wanna, (ha) I wanna, (ha) I wanna, (ha)
I wanna really, really, really wanna zigazig ah."

Cole - not good enough (surprised he was ever on the radar)
Clayton - wages too much and plays for a rival, they'd have to be desperate to unload him to us.
Murphy - wages would need to be subbed by Brighton might be a 'goer' especially if he's got that 'Scotland' nonsense out of his head.
Ulloa - we don't do marquee signings as such but this is as good a shout.

Just to piss on everyone’s chips, Leonard isn’t anything like Coutts. He’s a box to box midfielder. Not a regular with assists.

Nobody mentioned Coutts and who said Coutts does 'assists' , he doesn't.

Leonard does though.

Cole is a realistic shout though, he’s quick and knows where the net is, a better option off the bench if we need it. I think our front two is Clarke and Donaldson, and brooks and Clarke if brooks stays.

We either need a class centre half or a midfielder who’s main aim is to protect the back 3, would give us a much better chance of keeping clean sheets away from home.

I’d be in for Ojo at Scunny if we’re priced out of Leonard. Seen a couple of their games this season unfortunately for me and he’s been outstanding.

My take before the season started was we needed a defensive midfielder to help us keep it tight away from home. That failed to factor in that Wilder's philosophy doesn't seem to encompass 'keeping it tight away from home'.

Can't really play a defensive midfielder and a No.10. Could play different formations home and away. Don't see why though.

Just add a bit more creativity and a couple of cleverer footballers to what we've got as Duffy has too much to do on his own.

Honestly think if we make more chances from all our dominance the goals against will be fine.

I think our biggest priority, once again, is holding on to the first team. I can't for the life of me understand why the Summer wasn't filled with speculation about Fleck and JO'C and I'm amazed I still haven't seen much.

Duffy, much as I love him, tired last season and had to be regularly subbed off after 60mins and with Carruthers repeatedly failing to take his chances and the likelihood of a Brooks exit, that's the one position at the moment we really can't handle without changing the system.

The but, and this is a dreadfully negative in some ways, is that we don't need to sign anyone. The JTW is notoriously overpriced and full of has-beens, never-weres, and other unwanted poor performers. It's unthinkable that our current squad won't finish far ahead of our pre-season ambitions and we have the luxury of the first season in years in which we aren't thinking "get out of this division at any cost" - a desperation that has only ever gone against us in the transfer market. I really don't want to see us waste money and ruin the balance of the squad we've been building.

We need to sign the right players not the right now players. The type and caliber we need may not be easily available this window and, if they're not, I'd rather see us shore up and do better business in the Summer and be a real threat next season.

Perhaps copying Norwich and Bolton is the future?

Misen, I'm with Chris.

Far too much common sense in this post......
