Played 30/40 minutes against Liverpool and Man City with 4 at the back and a number 10 in Didzy after we made substitutions.

Didn't concede a goal, made more chances.

Who knows what could have happened with the rest of the matches if we'd done it from the start, but if we're getting tonked 4-1 anyway, why not give it a go.

I'm not going to advocate any of the silliness imho tonight about Wilder's future but it's absolutely clear that he has a more negative approach and attitude this season.

Did we though? We finished ninth based on a tight defence and keeping clean sheets, let’s not forget we only scored 39 goals last season.

In fact, having brought him in, he needs to find a way of getting Burke on the pitch more often than not.

In a league where we do not have any players who have the skill to be the difference for us in a game, Burke does at least have pace that outstrips pretty much everyone else on the pitch, whoever we are playing. He is certainly quicker than any defender and his presence will tend to make the opposition play 10 to 20 yards deeper.

His total disappearance since he was - wrongly in my opinion - taken off at Arsenal is slightly odd. Perhaps he is being punished for a little show of dissent at being subbed...

It's maddening. We're behind and need goals and yet he only uses two subs and not the one with the razor quick pace to maybe cause them some problems. If nothing else he could have pinned James or Chillwell back.

I can't understand why Burke didn't start yesterday pace frightens defenders and he has bags of pace, instead we start a young kid who in all the minutes on the pitch for us has had about 10 touches per game and done fuck all. Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea all have a decent chance of winning the Champions League.

Lets take Atalanta....one of the best open attacking sides in Europe. They don’t defend and always take the game to the oppostion.
This week they play Liverpool who just pick them off on the break......score line Atalanta 0 Liverpool 5

Now let’s take Athletico Madrid in both legs against Liverpool....they defend in numbers and play a negative style....initially no ambition.
However their defence is like a wall and they know that at some point they’ll be able to counter attack..and try to take their chance.
Liverpool hate playing that style (like a game of chess) and lose to Athletico. They much prefer an open attacking game.

I must have watched a different game, because 2nd half, all I saw was Chelsea attack. Did we even get in their box? we needed to try something different (Burke) and we declined the offer. Why not put him on when the game was up? We're not even giving him a chance to show why we brought him here in the first place.
