Notice the comment at the bottom from the Leeds fan saying how Wilder is old school and would stink out the PL with our negative defensive football. They are a sour lot. Wilder tactically outsmarts Bielsa and they just can’t accept it.

Just checked google and apparently the bloke who wrote that great article is a Boro fan.

I’ve said all along, no PL Chairman is going to pi$$ off their fanbase by taking Wilder.
Believe it or not there are still a massive amount of PL fans who have never heard of Chris Wilder and simply arent interested in him.

People go in about racism, sexism etc but there are other forms of prejudging and narrow mindedness.
With the lack of national interest towards Wilder proving the point, of course this will change if and when we reach the PL.

Doesn’t shock me at all mate. I’ve got loads of mates who support established premier league teams who have absolutely no clue what is happening outside the bubble that their team exists in. They genuinely have more clue about La Liga and the Bundesliga than they do the championship. I’ve lost count of the times they have looked shocked when I’ve told them about how we play and where we are in the league.

Starts of as patronising crap and then goes on to highlight feedback from many neutral sources singing the man's praises.

I have absolutely no doubt that if CWAK can get us up to the prem this season it will be the start of a dynasty that will live a long, long time.

We could even be fucking cup tarts, for real.
 



Bigger club?
Unless you are talking bigger as one of the big 6 super powers in this country (world renowned marketing dream) then there is no bigger club in my opinion, or that of Mr Wilder too I would wager.

He’s a man seemingly unimpressed by financial gain, as long as he’s happy that’s all he wants.
He’s at his club...name any other manager who’s doing that? Especially in the premier league.

So all this talk of him deserving a chance with a bigger club is folly. None of those big boys will look at him until he’s won a major trophy.
Here’s a question....is Wilder good enough to do the job in Serie A, or Bundesliga, La liga?

The thing that I find amazing with Wilder is how he can quickly improve some players.
It’s not just a Warnock style boost in effort and attitude, he actually makes them look like high quality players.

There are so many examples. Wolves fans laughing and amazed at how well Leon Clarke played last year.
Brentford fans saying O’Connell and Egan are decent but aren’t good enough lacking comfort on the ball
Coventry fans saying Fleck is OK at league 1 level but he’s overrated. According to Ipswich fans McGoldrick is forever injured.
Wilder has even got over the hill Billy Sharp playing like Rudd Van Nistlerooy.

It’s all incredible stuff and I keep thinking back to how Brian Clough quickly transformed an ordinary Forest side.
 
Stink out the PL eh?

More likely to give it a seriously good shake up. I would expect us to make roughly 6 signings if we go up. Players with genuine pace that will compete with the pacey opposition players.

We will stick to the same style of play and tactics but at a faster pace with the added ability to recover quickly and defend the lightening counter attacks that we will face.

Let's hope we can finish top 2 this season.

The only thing I would say to counter is that Wilders cv at top level football is underwhelming because he’s had no experience.
Even the Championship was a massive learning curb and way above anything he’s faced, but he’s learning fast.

Remember Wilder has ZERO experience managing foreigners, ZERO experience managing arrogant ego’s
ZERO experience of managing expensive players on massive salaries, even as a player he has very little top level experience.
So if he goes into the PL he’s almost a complete novice and will be so interesting to see how he copes.

Wilder is famous for being positive and attacking home and away but the Leeds game showed us what might happen next season.
He may need to adapt his tactics and be more defensive, relying on quick counter attacks away from home.

What a great article. I've said it before but we really are so so lucky that he is "one of our own." If we achieve the seemingly impossible this season his stock will deservedly go through the roof, and he will undoubtedly get offers that, financially, will be hard for him to turn down.

The man is a genius. I don't think I'll ever see the like of this at the lane again. Long may it continue.

Yes, IF we go up we may revert to defensive tactics...but do you really see Wilder doing that?
Wilder would sign players he deems good enough for the premier league, and I would say it would still be the case that he would be taking players from the British leagues to do it. (Be it foreign or otherwise)

So with those “premier league players” I honestly think he would go for it in all but perhaps the games against the champions league teams. Home and away.
He would be crazy to change what has succeeded for him, and would be open to say he would rather go down going for it rather than trying to bore teams and fans into submission.

Hopefully we won’t have too long to wait and see

This current team will get obliterated in PL as it stands. You only have to look how Fulham are struggling and they are streets ahead of us.

As I mentioned above I think we would only need around 6 series additions to the match day squad. I would expect that CWAK have said to the players... if we go up then you all get a crack at first team football. We will bring players in but not dozens. The squad wont be Massive squad so just compete and excel then you get your chance.

Our tactics are fine, we just lack the necessary pace required at that level.

We would give it a seriously good go at staying in the Prem but even if we get battered most weeks I am still looking forward to the big team names and players visiting the lane. Ultimately we will be a better and stronger team even if we go straight back down.

Hopefuly he wouldn’t do what Fulham did in signing 12 players a couple of weeks before the season started and destroying any momentum and team spirit We aren’t ready for the Premier League but Wilder would at least have a go unlike Huddersfield this season What we have to hope is that the board stick with him even if we struggle Getting relegated wouldn’t be the end of the world Regroup and go back stronger What ever he has certainly got our club back to being a pleasure rather than chore to follow

But that is just the way of the world. Most of us are only interested in our little bit of the footballing universe and couldn't care less what is happening elsewhere. Who of us can, without looking, tell us who the first, second and third teams are in league one today, and how many points they have got? Not many I would hazard a guess.

I think that our current squad would struggle, but we could quite easily pick up the types of players we needed to strengthen:

Dwight Gayle on a permanent from Newcastle.
Tom Cairney on a permanent deal from Fulham.
Jarrod Bowen on a permanent from Hull.
Adam Reach on a permanent from Wednesday.
Tammy Abraham on loan from Chelsea.
Mason Mount on loan from Chelsea.

You'd also try and pick up a Cahill type experienced CB and a Drinkwater/Milner type experienced DCM.

If we get promoted his stock will only rise in the Championship.
The PL will automatically think he’s another Warnock who can’t handle the top quality.
He might get big offers from a Leeds or Villa in the Championship but he’s not going to stop down a division if he’s with us in the PL.

He’ll only be in demand in the PL if he’s get us challenging for a Europa Cup place and has us playing good football
Giving the likes of Liverpool, Man U, Man City a bloody nose every now and then.

Basically he’s got to do something similar to what’s happening at Wolves, only then will he be in demand by the bigger clubs.

Warnock is one of the best managers ever at Championship level with a cv miles better than Wilders but even he has struggled to attract any interest at PL level.

When we got promoted to the Championship we were all told by yours truly how we'd be in for the shock of our lives, it turned out to be the Championship that was in for the shock of its life.

Getting promoted again will result in better players doing the same job that our players are doing now.
If of course our boardroom have learned anything at all over the last 10 years
