Why Was McEveley Subbed?

The Club (Jimbo) said "100% of the money is available"

We just need 50lbs of Gelignite to get it out of McCabes grasp ..............

I personally think it is in Nigeria now

Jacob Esan's back on the scene? Via a semi detached in Hounslow or wherever it was.

The Beard is going to have to play out of his skin to get his place back from Freeman IMO.

Defensively I don't think Freeman is great at right or left back as an out and out defender but he is good going forward. (He was woefully out of position for their first on Sunday, he was at fault for quite a few goals conceded from corners last season because he lost the player he was marking and remember the play-offs - he was destroyed defensively). Wing Back is probably a better position for him though I would still be tempted to try him in a Doyle role when Brayford is back as we are very deficient in that area - assuming we don't buy anyone in the meantime. He struggled with the guy who ripped McEveley a new one when he shifted to LB. Brayford's a much better defender IMO, has better pace and stamina (which we lack at the back) and is probably on a par with Freeman going forward. LB is a problem position for us with Harris out long term and we have now tried MacFadzean, Wallace, McEveley and Freeman in that position and none of them look up to it defensively.

Probably a combination of being on a booking, them having a tricky winger causing him problems and wanting more mobility down that side to play 433. And I suppose the fact he’s not very good at football might also be a factor.

I’ve noticed in the last 2 games that teams identify our left side as weak and target it with McEveley and Woolford there. Colchester swapped their wingers so Harriett was against McEveley and looked to hit him with nearly every outball. It’s so obvious how weak we are down that side with those 2 there. Thankfully, I can’t see either being there when we have a full squad to choose from.

If your happy to support that sack of shit whose stealing a wage then crack on, accept mediocre standards & quality . I won't .

Ben , i might not like it , and yes some are stealing a wage , and i am not happy about it . Like you , i have no alternative but to support the blades . Been doing it for a long time , and ain't going to change my colours , just because of another home made crisis or issue . Its wrong , but its become part of the culture and territory , which has to change . Adkins over time will acheive this. ( if he gets the correct backing and unbroken promises ) .

I actually think we are turning a corner , and as far as i am concerned , those who slag everything about the blades would be better fucking off to S6.

Sheffield United: Adkins warns defence - Tighten up or I’ll replace you!
“We’ve got to cut down on the number of goals we are letting in, that’s for sure,” Adkins said. “It’s too many, simple. We’ll keep working hard with the players we’ve got and, if we can’t improve it in-house, then we’ll have to go out-of-house as it were."

We have virtually the worst defensive record in the division, it can't continue, it's a warning to all of them. And quite right too, he's had enough given the last three performances.

Adkins and us supporters should expect some improvement for the Doncaster game (they have scored 4 all season). If not some are for the chop.

Adkins shot himself in the foot when he declared that he could improve what we had and make them better.

He's got to do what every bugger knows and bring people in but that makes him look like he can't do what he said he could.

Know what Nigel we're not bothered, so swallow your pride and get some players in.

So it's the fans fault we're short of defenders, stupid me thought the club bought players.

You know its not the fans fault . We support the club through thick and thin . The club seems to be building up a good open relationship with the fans , and although frustration , anoyance comes into it , especially after just getting 1 point from 9 , we have to be patient.

Yes we all know whats required on the player front , and Adkins is not daft enough not to also know. This league is so wide open , a team can easly be in a promotion or relegation battle in the blink of a eyelid.

Its no good fans slagging individual players , team , board , McCabe , Prince . JP , Brannigan , Adkins , staff , it gets us knowhere . Constructive critism yes , suppose you pay your money , you make your choice.

Suppose the positive , is to have a pop on here , and not at the lane.

What amazes me is the short memories some have. After the Swindon game, we were going to "smash this league, Collo looks good now he's got dependable Edgar by his side and J-Mac's had a stormer at left back...." etc etc. Then they're all shite and should be nowhere near the team when we suffer a couple of bad defeats (and they were bad) and that Baxter is the devil incarnate. Fact is, think this is how our season will go, some good wins, some poor defeats.....

So to the tune of 70's kids show "The Double Deckers"....

Get on board, get on board, get on board the Bladeacoaster,
Buy a ticket and get darn t'Lane................

Any suggestions for the last line?

The reason JM got subbed was presumably because Adkins has realised just how big a bollock he's dropped.

As for Freeman, I really don't think he's as bad defensively as some like to make out. For me he wasn't out of position for the first goal, it was JCR's mistake for not following his man. It was the left back who scored not the left winger.

The fact that Marshall was so much better than McEveley actually ended up working against them. If the difference in skill between them had been less galactic our captain might not have had to have been
hauled off so early to make way for someone less immobile.
