Why the Ched to Bolton deal fell through

Surprised Evans would want to go to that basket case of a club Bolton.

Looks like we were desperate to get rid. Doubt we’ll ever see him play for us again now.

Barton doesn’t mind calling a Spade a Shovel does he’s?

(He’s still a nob though)

Unfortunately for Ched and perhaps some Blades who harbour sentimental feelings for him, we have moved on hugely and frankly he wouldn't be nearly good enough for the level we are performing at now.

Others may disagree, but I honestly couldn't see him making the matchday squad, even if we had injuries.

Can understand why we were happy to sell to Sunderland- plenty of money and desperate to sign a striker. Suspect we could have had their pants down if not for the media reactions that supposedly derailed it.

Also wouldn't want him going to Bolton because I wouldnt actually trust them to honor any payments to either us or Ched.

Better staying at Fleetwood- seems comfortable and wanted there and is scoring goals. Let him stop there, knock 20 in (he’s on 12) and we have ourselves a proven, under contract L1 goalscorer to flog in the summer.

Any sale relies on complete secrecy until it’s signed and sealed otherwise the do gooders turn the fan base against the move and the buying club loses its nerve.

Sounds like Fleetwood legally could have kept Ched to their season long loan arrangement
But as a favour to Ched agreed to let him go to Bolton if they could find a last minute replacement
The owners of other clubs/ agents of all their targets suspected they were desperate and inflated the asking price of all the replacement targets. So in the end Fleetwood felt forced to insist that Ched stays with them.

Bolton obviously weren’t aware of the 24 hour notice call back clause and thought they could sneak in and get him on loan in the final hours. Barton disappointed that Parkinson didn’t phone him to give him some notice that they might be losing their striker.

Doubt he would have played against us yesterday because normally there’s a clause put in.

I’m not particularly fussed about the story, but how can a newspaper subeditor (albeit of the Fleetwood Weekly) not know the difference between ‘critiques’ and ‘criticises’?

But... but he did critique him didn't he?

"The disappointing thing for me is Phil Parkinson did not have anything about him.

"When I see him I will tell him about picking the phone up and being a man about it.

"They tried to do it in the incorrect fashion and that is why they do not have a striker and that is why they will probably get relegated from the Championship.

"When you conduct yourself in the manner that they do, nobody will have any sympathy for them."

Don't get me wrong, it's hardly the most in-depth critique, but there's some analysis there isn't there?

I heard Bolton sent this guy round to speak to McCabe....

a) I wouldn't have signed anything to help Bolton.....horrible club with a horrible Chairman, they can fuck off.
b) I'm not surprised about Bartons comments on Parkinson
c) If I was a Fleetwood fan I'm not sure I would have been happy with Ched driving around the country trying to engineer a move away
d) Ched will surely not play for SUFC again....no way near good enough
