I cannot believe how many negative people have infested the message boards with doom mongering and dissing Wilder, his staff, the board
and ultimately shafting the players and Sheffield United football club. Get a grip and if nothing positive to say please bugger off as i do not wish to surround
myself with all the lemmings.

Three games and after first 10 minutes Blades matched Wolves for 80 minutes. Villa game was cagey and 10 men matched all of Villas money on pitch
allowing for the fact the game plan was out of window when Egan let himself down, all the prep and formations wasted etc and bad luck with penalty
because the ball was struck at perfect height to save if goaly goes right way.

Leeds game was enjoyable end to end and Blades were building momentum matching Lleds but end result is let down by fannying around when a clear shot is better option
or trying to walk the ball into net. All the games were fine margins and apart from first 10 mins of wolves game we have not been played off the park. A new striker will lift heads
and frankly United are always slow out of blocks. But Sheffield United and Leeds will finish mid table as they are both good enough.

I would prefer more creative flair in midfield but a new striker and a solid defence is enough to climb the table and kickstart the season.
I do not wish then to hear the lemmings spouting more bullshit.

So we can be confident of staying up if we make new signings. Cool. And if we don't?

The conundrum is.....
We’ve played well and lost, chill out
Bloody hell we’ve played well And still lost

Time will tell

But irrespective we haven’t scored in 3 games, and we have, on paper harder games to come

The lads on the pitch and CWAK have to pick themselves up, 1st time under the management team we are facing a mini crisis, but that’s all it is

We don’t press the panic button...... yet.

I think the fact that we cannot follow our beloved Blades from the stands is the frustrating part. We can all agree football isn't the same without supporters, I find myself getting bored watching live games on tv, it's just not the same as being there! The silent majority are behind the Blades it's just a small number of keyboard warriors who are moaning and like to be heard. The majority of Blades are behind the boy's, but are a tad frustrated. Form is temporary, class is permanent, we'll turn it around.

I think the thing that worries people is the fixtures appearing on the horizon... if the next five were say Arsenal, Fulham, Burnley, Palace, Southampton.. then people would not be so concerned about no points from Wolves, Villa and Leeds.. unfortunately those aren’t the fixtures and it leaves the nagging worry that we let at least four points get away from us in the first three games and we have only one of the next five where can realistically be expected to get anything.. playing catch up is hard in this division...

That’s why the reaction.

I agree with the overall sentiment of this post but
after first 10 minutes Blades matched Wolves for 80 minutes.
It's a game of 95 minutes (more if playing Man u)
Villa game was cagey and 10 men matched all of Villas money on pitch allowing for the fact the game plan was out of window when Egan let himself down, all the prep and formations wasted etc
Egan didn't let himself down the referee and VAR officials did.
Blades were building momentum matching Lleds but end result is let down by fannying around when a clear shot is better option
or trying to walk the ball into net.
eh? Lads couldn't have done better, again the referee could have but that's going to be the theme of this season.

decent post for an 'irregular' but pay more attention to detail.

I can understand the gloomsters. You've been away from the PL for a long time, you enjoyed it last season & you don't want it to end. You know full well how long it can bloody take to get back.
I only watched your highlights on motd2 so realise that really doesn't always give the full picture of any game.
However, from what I saw I thought you played very well. Ramsdale for one was very good & should give you some confidence.
Leeds goal came off Bamford's f*cking nose so you could say it might have gone anywhere! I think the game could equally have ended 1-0 to you, so there's hope.
Yes, you're 19th after 3 games but, look where 1 win takes you in this league. We might be 11th now but that really doesn't mean anything either, at this stage.
See where you are after 9 or 10 games.

I've been telling em that...

I haven't lost faith, a week is a long time in football, if we make a couple of signings (and the Prince is known for surprising us) then the picture will look very different.

Weather we spend, or protect the finances of the club remains to be seen, but I think we have the tools to stop up, that's all most of us wanted last season BTW.

What a baby.

It's really getting very boring being told what to think by people who have nothing cogent to say about how we will improve.

It is the total lack of faith that's really baffling.
If we had lost all 3 games 3 or 4 nil and created nothing by all means have a dig at the teams apathy.
But we could and maybe should have got something on the board by now if it was not for a few poor referee decisions and Leeds keeper having a blinder.
Some of our approach play and quick passing has had the commentators purring over how well we were passing in tight situations.
Just keep your shit together and have a little faith

We play better against better teams and will start to accumulate points.

As I posted yesterday in another thread,
the fact is that, with the exception of Berge, we have only brought in decent Championship players, which should we get relegated this season, early days I know but I've not seen anything from the back end of last season to now to suggest that we're in for a good season, will make us a good Championship side, unless of course our better players get picked off by promoted teams!
The facts are that we are light years behind the top clubs and years away from the rest. We can't compete financially with Villa or Fulham and only Burnley seem to be worse off than us financially and even that could change soon! (with potential new owners)
We've done well, no very well, over the past couple of years and punched well above our weight, but now, despite Wilders comments about strengthening, we have been unable to bring in the class of player needed to compete and survive at this level.
I hope that we will survive for another season in the EPL, but the signs at the moment aren't good!

If you blow up a balloon too much it bursts

Sooner or later it'll click, the ref will make the right decisions and VAR will back him up and somebody is in for a right 1-0 hammering.
Chins up lads!

Surely it is the blades way to expect the worst. I remember being at the Ipswich match thinking we can still balls this up.

It’s too early to dismiss the new acquisitions as Championship players.
Most of our better players could have been called that two years ago.

I was initially surprised at the reaction to these results, but then remembered:
  • The reactions to any transfer that doesn’t materialise
  • The reaction to the post-lockdown start
  • The reaction after the Millwall home game
  • The reaction after the Villa away game
  • The reaction after we failed to obliterate Wednesday in their 0-0 wins
  • The reaction after Ryan Leonard was revealed to be allowed to play against us
  • The reaction after the Fleetwood loss
  • The annual threads since Wilder started declaring we needed to revert to 4 at the back because we’d been found out
...and then realised that we have just always had a chunk of fans that deal with any adversity, or perceived adversity, regardless of size, without any degree of calm. It probably looks embarrassing to those looking at it from outside, but in the same way I’d encourage folk not to overreact to the actual events that happen, it’s probably not worth overreacting to those panicky reactions that you see.

Fair comment, but while the rest bring in the better talent from Europe and the rest of the World, we continue to look at Scottish internationals! 🤔

The first sign is normally 10 games in not 3
And we are not the only club buying championship players
Other clubs have bought Bournemouth players .as have we our keeper was a prem player
We have bought promising players which most other clubs do..Burke had just become a prem player. Ampidou is a class player
People go on like we've raided Wednesday or Luton for their subs bench players

we continue to look at Scottish internationals!
You have to remember, 'this is what we can afford.'
It's not worth overspending to stay in the Prem, being there does not make you some super power and does not make your club wealthy. The money that you get from being in the EPL is consumed in wages and fees, it probably makes funding each season easier (for teams like United and Burnley) but even the Leeds and Villas of this world are cannon fodder in the EPL.

If we lose to Fulham in a week or so's time I predict that the lot will go up.

Ask Chris. I imagine he has an idea or two. I'd have thought you might have an idea or two yourself with the use of 'Revolution' on your avatar,or is your revolution over after 3 games.
All opinions mate but the negativity referred to is astounding after what has been achieved.
Thank god we're not at the Lane, our season would be in danger of becoming a fans self fulfilling prophesy for some sharing their nonsense.
It's football and teams go through bad spells as they readjust and evolve.
Some of our lot act like babies cos things aren't going our way for the first time in a long time. Largely injury free and despite seeming refereeing/var injustices the team has not felt sorry for itself and cracked on.
I just don't get why folk want to be such doom merchants. Our players would laugh at us and question the lack of loyalty.
Absolutely fans choice to express but success has never been built on negativity. Certainly not ours.
I bet the lads don't think about relegation after 3 games. Why would we?
I've seen more good than bad.
We look streets ahead of Fulham and West brom because we can still defend and the goals will come. In my humble opinion.Burke is developing nicely whose pace will cause defences havoc.
I don't deny it could be tough, but we've seen enought of CWAKs teams to have confidence and faith haven't we ? And the players we have brought in thus far will bed in and thrive, given time and patience.
No offence mate but I'm glad I don't share your perspective. I'd be reaching out for the tramadol.
Enjoy the season. UTB
