Why is it that we look forward to a FA cup draw and it's always disapointing

I don't
I wouldn't have got excited no matter who we drew out the hat , were not going to win it are we ?evenif we got to the semis I wouldn't go
Wembley is a blades kryptonite

Always preferred the draw on a Monday lunchtime myself.

Couldn't think of many draws that would be worse than Reading to be honest.

In order of preference I would go:

1. Home against a lowly ranked team.
2. Home against anyone else.
3. Away at a lowly ranked team.
4. Away at a genuine "big" club.
5. Away against someone better than you but without the pulling power to make it a money spinner.

5 it is then.

Most fans and teams have fallen out with the earlier stages of the FA Cup and I wouldn't have been too fussed if we'd lost on Saturday. Even worse, the Crapital One Cup (the League Cup lost all credibility when Wendy won it), and the JPT.

What's in it for us? Possible injuries and suspensions. Could we win a cup? Think back to 2003. And this mythical 'big pay day' well, for one thing you don't think DW would see any of it, do you? And a double-figure drubbing at Chelsea, Man. U or Arsenal would outweigh any 'financial benefit.' Or we could get fiddled by the likes of Suarez and have to listen to Strachan claiming 'he didn't do it deliberately.'

Cups? For a team in our position, get out asap and concentrate on what really matters.

Can't think of a post on here I could disagree more with to be honest.

Since the age of 4 my dream as a football fan has been to see us play in an FA Cup final. It is still true to this day and will be until I breathe my last.
Would I swap an FA Cup final for another run of the mill relegation battle in the top flight? Not for a second. Football, to me, is about glory not about plodding along making wads of cash.

Remember the great days watching United? How many of them have been league games? We play perhaps 10 times more league games than cup games yet I will guarantee that every Blade has a far greater proportion of cup games in their "greatest games" list (usual caviat of not actually knowing every blade etc. etc.).
