It makes 0 sense to me why he's captain

I never see him properly communicating with the whole team, motivating the team when needed

See him sometimes moaning when he's not ran quick enough blaming others

Why isn't JOc captain, or Bash, or Fleck, or fuckin anyone other than him? (obviously i'm referring to when Billy isnt on the pitch)

Whoever is captain makes fuck all differences if we defend like an Under 11 Girl Guides team as soon as we take a lead...

Its a funny one. Whenever he’s interviewed, he comes across as having the personality of a skirting board. But it does seem like he’s well respected within the squad and CW and the staff must have their reasons. Maybe they dont want to rock the boat and look like picking a “favourite” by choosing between JOC, Fleck, Bash, Egan etc. I suspect its mainly symbolic anyway, seeing as theres a few “leaders” in the squad as Wilder often speaks of. So maybe he just gives it to the more experienced, respected older-head in Clarke so nobody gets their nose pushed out of joint?

I'm not a fan of having strikers as captains. I've also never seen him do anything you'd expect as a captain. Sharp not much better.

Surely Fleck should be captain?

Fleck is the best player we have, he’s the most influential player we have, he’s involved in the vast majority of everything we do, he plays in the middle of the pitch where his leadership qualities will be able to affect the whole team. It might not actually make much difference who the captain is, but if we are choosing the best candidate, it’s John Fleck all the way.

*Unless they can’t understand his accent.

I was about to say that I've changed my mind as Fleck is too quiet but then they all are. It's suprising when they've been together as a group so long.

None of those three were outstanding today.

Billy likes a moan, l don't blame him. Neither do I blame Leon when he does.

Clarke has never struck me as the type of player that would ever captain a team.

But I don’t think the captain has much influence to be honest and it’s just a symbolic thing, so I’m not too fussed who gets it.

I would only have an issue if the captaincy meant a player became undroppable, especially strikers as that is a position which is more likely to be rotated.
