Why did Scunthorpe wear green?

Irish Iron day as 1889 said. Apparently the green shirts outsell their home and away kits, according to their fans after the game

I remember Chelsea having to wear coventrys away kit in the 90s. Not sure if it was because they forgot there's but must have been wierd for both sets of fans watching. Can't remeber if they lost but it's a ready made excuse.

In Sept 1977 Palace wore our away kit in their 2-0 win at BDTBL. In February 1982 we wore Colchester's away kit in our 5-2 defeat at Layer Road. In Dec 1971 we wore gold/ orange shirts in our 5-1 defeat at Palace, not sure if the shirts were ours or belonged to Palace, maybe we hired them from a shop

This will be only posting of the day ,
Going out in a while to get hammered ,
They do have a supporters club over here , used to meet up in a pub close to the ferry when I used to come over that way ,
Have a happy St Patrick's day .

And then there's that research which shows referees (in several sports?) favour the team in red.

Filmed some bouts of TKD - which is Red v Blue
Asked refs to score it
Red came out winner generally
Reversed the colours on the video with computer trickery and subterfuge
Same bouts but Red was Blue and Blue Was Red
Asked different refs to score it
Red won again, despite having lost when they were Blue

I think this effect has been reproduced in several experiments.
