Handbag, Dalgety Bay, Flake, Brassmoulder. Go on Mic, you have to make a Blackwell Out post using those constitiuent parts:D

Brassmoulder was at Dalgety Bay when he turned to Flake and asked "what's in the handbag"

"it's Blackie's P45"

Brassmoulder was at Dalgety Bay when he turned to Flake and asked "Is Blackwell out". "No" he replied, "that was the sound of Raul coming out, Raul is gay"

:gallop:

Maybe Simpson had money to spend this season and didnt have to cut his playing squad and had no injuries in which case he has no excuses for this seasons performance. Whatever you feel about Blackwell he has had some valid excuses this season.

I was of that thought and felt that Blackie should be kept on especially if we were continuing to cut the wage bill further. McC's comments about spending £14M quash that and it would seem the coming season is the one with pain. I now feel that Blackie has failed miserably and pissed £14M up against a wall. It wasn’t even a good night out.

Not exactly the Peoples Poet now are you Mr W?:gallop:

We're not 100% on how the 14M was split though and if the majority of it was paying the wages of the playing staff that Nobson signed then its not like we could have done much else with that cash as they were already on those contracts. I've put last season down to bad luck on and off the pitch with the financial climate, injuries and a certain cough.

Next season there cant be any excuses about still paying the high earners as they will have gone or be on new contracts and we will have had a whole pre-season to get everyone fit again. Il give Blackwell untill Xmas, if hes still serving up dross with a fully fit squad then itl be time to get rid but Im going into the summer with hope and expecting a decent season.

Up the Eagles!

I bet he didn't have a £14 Million wage budget and £3 Million for players.

and didnt have to cut his playing squad and had no injuries in which case he has no excuses for this seasons performance. Whatever you feel about Blackwell he has had some valid excuses this season.
and he decided we didn't need Billy Sharp, David Cairney, Cotts, Kyle Reid, how much cash has he wasted on those last three names deemed not good enough.

Paul Simpson got fired and has had a similar run to Blackwell in a similar time. But its a different club, different management, different division, different fans, different ambitions... so I don't think its that similar.

I've been on the 'Blackwell out' side of the fence for a couple of months now, but following last weeks forum, its clear that the club is not prepared to be bold and make a clear statement of intent for where we want to go and what we want to achieve. Why? Well we talked up our ambitions in the PL "5 years to Europe" target, the club tried to back it up by giving Robson a bottomless pit, tried to back it up by giving Blackie a decent budget for 2 seasons but its petered away now.

The club talk up games, season tickets, singing sections etc etc, but they'd be much better cutting the crap and setting a public target to go for, even if its promotion in two seasons or whatever, at least we'd know and perhaps we'd be more patient to what we're trying to achieve.

Its time for the club to to make a decision on the football side and whatever happens with or without Blackie we need to back the team or or back off... but more importantly, if Blackie's the manager come August, he needs a Squad of contracted players. I'd rather he was gone, because of what he brings to the club footballing wise, but if he's there, lets all back him...

Its been a long season and I'm ending it glad that after the next 90 mins it'll be finished for a few months... I'm just waiting to see what happens with our current manager

Have faith Mic. Blackie is definately the right man for the job!? Me, McCabe and Tricky Trv are sure that KB is the right man to rebuild the squad and set up the assault on the premierleague next year!!!??? :p

I honestly think the situations are very similar - or as similar as they can be. Shrewsbury to me would be one of the bigger clubs in that tier, they have a newish ground and I imagine reasonably high expectations. They lost in play-offs and then had a very disappointing season. Obviously I know it's a different club etc but it seems perfectly sensible to get rid of Simpson in exactly the same way it would be sensible in my eyes to get rid of Blackwell.

I don't see this need for a statment of intent. Just sack Blackwell - easy. Actions not words. Very short statement saying 'thanks Blackie but no thanks' and move on. I'm all for chairman saying as little as possible.

Whilst I agree with you (and actually, now is the right time for him to 'leave by mutual consent' in my opinion), if we haven't got money to pay for players, then we haven't got the money to pay off his contract. We do need a change though.

This can't be right HH. KB can't be on more that 200k a year (possibly/probably less). As he has 2 years left then it would only cost 400k to get rid of him (and maybe less if he left by 'mutual consent').
