Bugger. That's me out.

I reckon she's a user who is apt to 'go ugly early', thereby guaranteeing some hammer.

So I reckon I'm fresh in there. There's only her revealing being a pigfan which would stop her from pulling me.

Because we kicked out the stickball like a petulant son kicking his aged parents out of the family home.

Yes, but if we'd not done that the seasons would have overlapped, and you can't play football and cricket on the same ground at the same time because it would be dangerous.

I blame South Yorkshire Police for being so arrrogant and incompetent

Shit that adds a whole new dimension!

All this time we have been blaming the football gods and it is obviously their older and more established brothers, the cricketing gods!

FFS, get Joe Root down on the Desso for a few pre match cover drives and Ted Hemsley to take a couple of catches and all should be fine. If not, the South Stand will have to come down and we will have to rebuild the pavillion. I knew that 'Old pictures' thread would prove useful at some point.

After all this time I think we have stumbled on the reason for all of our ills. Our demise started at the time of the eviction of the stickballers so one can only conclude that it was the cricket pitch which gave us an unfair advantage for the first 86 years of our existence. In other words we've always been shit.

Well it was certainly good for time wasting as Big Eddie or one of his other cohorts used to hammer the ball toward the Pavillion and the ball boys used to saunter after it

Not trying to be funny here I know there have been others before us, but looking at the size of this club and it's following what on earth are we still doing in this division on our 6th season ?

It's the fans fault.

Stability.

Clubs who get promoted, clubs who yo-yo between divisions, all have a degree of stability.

We've not had it - trimming wage bills, selling players, changing managers, changing managers with different philosophies - doesn't provide any foundations on which to be successful.

CW has come in and addressed all that. We have a board who we barely hear from now, we have a unified playing squad, a proper wage structure, CW is allowed to pull all the strings - you get the feeling the tea lady wouldn't be able to change the brand of biscuits without his approval.

We finally have solid foundations, stability and structure. All down to CW. Thats why we're going up.

For me its mix of 3, Some years it sheer Bad luck. if minute things went opposite way ie winning the shootout after saving huddersfield 3 of 1st 4 pens or even the 3pts we lost conceding goals in 7th & 4th min of stoppage time v oldham & exeter. Which wouldve had promoted automatically on GD

Then sometimes its a combo of bad luck & be utter crap. Then others was that we were absoultely shocking & to be honest lucky to stay in league 1 not follow Blackpool Doncaster Portsmouth. Mentioning no names david weir & nigel adkins

I'm not even sure they are. I follow her on Instagram and all her posts are work related or her hanging about with mates. I think she's either single or a lesbian. I'm totally fine with either tbh..

(You're welcome BTW)

Despite me being an "old git" I'm committed to being "inclusive" in the spirit of not discriminating against minority groups.

I've therefore always said I don't have any problem with lesbians and in fact would enjoy watching the lovely Lucy with her lady partner if this is indeed the case ...... ;):D:p

You aren't being 'inclusive', you are in fact being a dirty old man.

Fortunately advance traking systems operate on this site, so a text is currently winging its way to Mrs DarthBlade....

In my humble opinion a very basic desription;

2011–12 (Play off final) - Because we lost our only goal threat right at the end of the season, and Steve Simonsen thought he was playing rugby not football

2012–13 (Play off semi finals) - Because we sacked Wilson at a stupid time and Morgan unfortunately could not guide is past Yeovil in the play offs

2013–14 - Because an inexperienced manager in Weir gave us a woeful start, Clough couldn't repair that, finishing 7th

2014–15 (Play off semi finals) - Because Clough was negative as shite, we lost at home in the play offs first leg which to a last minute winner

2015–16 - Because we got a new manager, who was once again too negative and more worried about losing games, than wanting to win them, and Dean Hammond in general

2016-2017 - Fingers crossed boys... fingers crossed

An old cowboy went to a bar and ordered a drink. As he sat sipping his whiskey, a young lady sat down next to him. She turned to the cowboy and asked, "Are you a real cowboy?"

He replied, "Well, I've spent my whole life on the ranch, herding horses, mending fences, and branding cattle, so I guess I am."

She said, "I'm a lesbian. I spend my whole day thinking about women. As soon as I get up in the morning, I think about women. When I shower, I think about women. As I watch TV, or even eat, I think about women. Everything seems to make me think about women."

The two sat sipping in silence. A short time later, a man sat down on the other side of the old cowboy and asked, "Are you a real cowboy?"

He replied, "I always thought I was, but I just found out that I'm a lesbian."
