id say chris hughton myself or di matteo both got experiance but will the wage's be to much should have never sacked blackwell should have at least give him 10-15 games see how it panned out...

Blackwell should never have seen pre-season. He shouldn't have seen the coach to get home from Wembley either. That's when he quit for me

Both Di Matteo or Hughton would be very good. Di Matteo edges it for me

Hardly a comprehensive choice is it?

Steve Coppell.

Could you repeat that a little slower, please? I speak only English and French.

apparently Di Matteo has been in touch with Mccabe by text.
macabe said he d be interested in Hughton
Personally Id go for Gus Poyet

None of them for me. Hughton's had one job with a team with by far the best squad in the division, he wouldn't have that luxury with us. Di Matteo did ok with WBA but, again, they're too good for this division and have yo-yoed between the Premier league and First Division for a few years. I think we need somebody with experience of getting lower league teams promoted. That Micky Adams is out of work and has a track record of promotions, what about him? Oh...

coppell can frig off-what a morbid wanker-dont think his hearts in the game anymore anyway-look how he took the bristol job.
Di matteo all the way for me-did a good job at getting mk dons into league 1,and he got west brom out of the championship.

I would go for someone like Keith Hill from Rochdale or Russell Slade. Would love to see Adkins down at the Lane.

Anyone considered Bassett, given he is still at the club for whatever reasons?

From what Harry was saying the other week, he wouldn't want to do it even if offered. Those days are behind him.

Adkins is a good manager. My concern with RDM is that he might bail at the first opportunity as per Speedo and leave us in the shite with a job half done. If the contract locks him down to do a full rebuilding job, promising him fair backing and he is still interested then we should consider him strongly.

Ah fair enough, not that I'd want him personally, but I thought he may have been talked about by some, but apparently not!

Di Matteo would be my choice. I hadn't seriously considered him or Hughton (my second choice) until hearing KM tonight. SOD would also be a good candidate I feel and if at all interested, he should be considered.

Not heard KM tonight, what was said that makes you think RDM could get it? I didn't think he would be considered to be honest, interesting to know what has been said. Doubt SoD would leave Doncaster, he has no balls to make the move, he has his feet under the table and keeping them up every season is a huge achievement to him. Even though we are a league lower he knows we have a lot more potential. One step backwards two step forwards comes to mind.

Ah just read the other thread to clear the RDM situation up. Could be a candidate then.

Just had a look on Sky Bet and theres no listing for RDM

Yes, whereas all Coppell has to his credit is a wealth of experience, several promotions, A Wenger- like ability to pick up excellent footballers no-one else has heard of; A Reading team that won the Championship with a record points haul and played some of the best football ever seen in that League; a calm, thoughtful and dignified demeanour. A real wanker; there's no doubt.

A lot of people saying we couldn't afford Di Matteo, but if Brentford (if the rumor has any truth to it) can make an approach and afford him, surely we can?

And, it would appear, fluent Bollocks too.

The case for the prosecution, m'lud.

Hardly a comprehensive choice is it?

Steve Coppell.

Steve Coppell is as viable a choice as Spongebob Squarepants or Brian The Blade off of ringing up Radio Sheffield to "enlighten" us every five minutes. Coppell has quit football.
"11 August 2010 after only four months in charge, Coppell resigned as Bristol City manager, saying that he would retire from football management altogether citing a lack of passion for the job."

A lack of passion for the job. Either you are being supremely ironic, which on current evidence would point firmly to the contrary, or you are barking firmly up the wrong tree. Coppell is a worse choice for manager than any of the names we've had bandied about so far.

His undoubted good record doesn't mean he's lost his edge and appetite for management though does it? He also has a Keeganesque mentality when the going gets a bit rocky too; i.e. "feck this, i don't need it, I'm off", hardly ideal for taking on SUFC.
Another one of your many idealistic pipe dreams I'm afraid Pinchy :-)

With Roberto Di Matteo, we'd boss league 1! :D Get him NOW McCabe!

Can we merge both BBC polls and perhaps have a poll on how many polls BBC can start?

Don't be too naive Lister, he was linked to Brentford in a 4 line article in the Daily Mirror. No quotes, no source mentioned or even suggested.
