George Baldock sadly passed away in October, so it's not just any ex player and is significant in mine and many others views, hence the applauding.

That makes things worse. I thought it was some random stand in. He has fumbled a lot of important tributes to those we have lost. As I said on the Baldock thread, I think he and the club should have at least had some of an announcement for Hecky's return as well. I would expect someone from Sky Sports to be a bit better than he has been over these last few home games.

I was really grumpy about that. I really wanted to see the entire stadium stand up and give him a round of applause. I think that's likely what the vast majority wanted to do, and he and SMcC deserved that. Really disappointed. Felt like a snub from the club but likely just a fumble by the MC

I think it was a fumble by him as Wilder was praising Hecky in the presser pre match.

I was being tongue in cheek, the fact the whole ground was applauding suggests to me that this was pre planned, but obviously it's easier to have a go at someone for not announcing an ex players birthday the day before his birthday so that everyone who had already agreed to do a minutes applause on the nearest home game before his birthday as opposed to the nearest home game after his birthday could do a minutes applause ffs

Ffs what are people complaining about? the whole ground was applauding, why Because it's Baldocks birthday tomorrow, but we all knew that and we arranged to do a minutes applause, but then the man with the microphone forgot to mention it was his birthday so we all did what we said we would do anyway but now we are upset because someone didn't tell us what we already knew
