Owen Coyle for me, but out of that lot Robinson and Jackett would also be OK.

Anyone who has the ability to get us out of the division!!! So for me, I think Robinson and Jackett would be worth a punt!!!

Coyle would be my first choice but doubt he'd come.

Jackett would be my second choice but doubt he'd come.

Not keen on any of the others :(

Coyle would certainly be high up the list, but agree that I don't think he'd come, he'll be looking for a Championship club. Mind you I don't think McCall will come either...

..Of that lot, probably Kenny Jackett, set the ball rolling at Swansea. Same again Kenny boy!

But for me, push the boat out, offer him freedom of the club to shape it as he wants, and get Gary Neville in.

coyle but i voted for robinson. though i could have voted for mccall.

i dont really care who gets it, as long as hes either coyle or is on that list.
and isnt morgan.
or warnock
or wilder.

Julian Winter: A number of the twenty serious applicants for the manager's job have been dismissed because they don't fit the profile.

I think that means we rule out anyone who's already in a job at a decent level, or anyone with a famous name.

why do you think that?

it could mean almost anything really? youd imagine most of them wouldnt be in a job. unlikely anybody in a job would apply without us approaching them first?

Another vote for Coyle. If no nice there, then from that list it would go...

Robinson (even if he is a twunt)
Jackett
McCall

The others I don't fancy at all...

McCall for me but I don't think we stand a chance of getting him. Robinson would be my second choice though.

Owen Coyle, as mentioned many times above.

I do think he would come actually, because if you are a manager who backs yourself, this club is actually a great job. Expectations are high, we know, but so is the potential. Coyle would know one good season and he is at a club that has the foundations for the Premier League, even if not the team!

Also, Kevin McDonald was a highly rated top division player under Coyle, I fancy he might give him a kick up the arse too and get him back to those levels!

What's the obsession with Coyle? Anyone would think he's a world beater based on some of these posts! He was sacked at Bolton with them in 18th in the Championship.

My choice from the list would be Jackett. I don't think he'd be willing to drop to this level though. He got Millwall out of League One and did well with Swansea in the bottom two divisions.

I'd also be reasonably happy with Davis or Robinson.

Millwall finished 20th .

They did. I'm not raving about Jackett though am I?

There's also the fact Bolton were 18th after coming down from many years in the Premiership. Millwall have recently come up from League One.

theres no obsession with him. hes just clearly a stand out candidate being pretty much the only manager we could possibly get whos ever achieved anything.

if you go to the local shop and theyve got oreos, rich tea and blue ribbands on offer...most people would go for the oreos. that doesnt make everybody "obsessed with oreos" now does it?

The way I read it is that, if they've applied, then they're probably affordable. Everyone knows what limits there are with regards to finances at this level.

If you listen to the Julian Winter interview, the word "profile" is used strictly in the context of cost. The whole interview revolves around it.

Basically, we're still re-profiling, even now. Next season's playing budget will be lower, by a not inconsiderable amount by the sound of it.

Based on what Winter said, and also what McCabe said at the Q&A, I would say the profile revolves around a few different things. He has to be young, willing to buy into the use of youth and development of younger players. A more modern way of running a football club. I think that pretty much rules out Jackett, Warnock and Allen

Wilder, McCall or Morgan it is then. And only one of those would come for free. :)

I'd gamble on Pemberton given that remit.
