One of the frustrations with United are the number of poor crosses - usually not getting beyond the first man - often ending a good move. So much has improved in the game in general in recent years, but I can't think of when we last had a player who consistently put good balls in (credit to Bogle yesterday for his ball to Mcatee for the second goal though). The last really good crosser I can think of was David Cotterill over ten years ago? Bring back Colin Morris is all I can say!

Andy Liddell had a good cross, but lacked pace and dribbling to get into great positions.

I remember Greg Halford saying he thought crossing was the best feature of his game.

Billy Sharp's ability to get crosses in from difficult positions is very underrated, though the accuracy isn't always great.

Norwood and Doyle can also cross well, though they're not the best to work an opening for themselves.

Glad to be on the same page as you with thinking Sharp is there. Last season I recall thinking if only he could be on the end of some of his great balls into the box

Old Woody on corners they could be in swingers or out swingers whether from the left or right wing, he also had the ability to cut a cross back from the goal line while running full pelt. His weaker left leg was not far off as good as his right leg too. Norwood just does not even come close.
